I am sooooooooo lazy when it comes to blogging. Fact.
I have about 5 posts that I need to write just to keep it updated as far as holidays/Holden/preschool stuff goes, but instead I'm just going to do a quick lately post.
About three weeks ago, I went to refill my BC prescription only to find that it had expired earlier in the month. Ugh. So I had to put a call in to my OB to see if she would fill it without me coming in to see her first. Unfortunately, this happened on a weekend & I was COMPLETELY out already. Yeah....procrastinated that one a bit too much. By the time I got a response back from my doctor's nurse we had already made the decision that I would NOT go back on my birth control. I know I've mentioned it here before, but I hate the way it makes me feel totally indifferent towards my husband physically. And he doesn't enjoy it either, obviously.
So, does that mean we are TTC you ask? Well, no. We are pretty sure that we DO want at least one more child, but we both agree that we'd prefer to wait until next Fall at least before we start trying again. I'd like to wait until H is two or almost two before we take the plunge again. So where does that leave us exactly? Back to natural family planning or charting or TTA, whichever name you'd prefer to use. Unfortunately, you can't do that very well until your cycle returns & we played with fire a bit for a week & a half or so. Two days ago was CD1 & my cycle has finally returned after nearly two years without one. And to put it short & sweet....my body is definitely making up for the lost time & basically trying to kill me in the process. Ugh. We successfully TTA after C for 4 months before we decided to start trying again for H so I'm not too concerned about it all especially since H is finally starting to STTN regularly (knock on wood!!).
Speaking of H, he got his first haircut right after Christmas & it was seriously harder on me then it was on him. He did not care at all & didn't cry one bit. I miss his little curls, but he still looks adorable with his hair trimmed. And fortunately, he still looks more like a baby then a toddler even with shorter hair. =) He also decided over our Christmas trip to our hometown that he can walk & is now doing so about 80% of the time putting him almost exactly two weeks earlier on this milestone then his brother. I'm honestly surprised he waited this long to do it, but he is soooo stubborn I guess I shouldn't be. He always does things on his own time. And speaking of doing things on his own time.... It's not like he can control this, but he STILL doesn't have a single tooth. 14.5 months old & NO teeth. I think we may actually be close to *something* this time, but I won't believe it until I actually see it. He's ALL about his momma lately & it can be really trying at times when all he wants is ME, but I also secretly love that he is such a momma's boy. He's definitely becoming a lot more sweet & cuddly as we foray into toddlerhood. It's so interesting to see his little personality blossom along with more likes & dislikes & little opinions. He's also "talking" up a storm right now. Most of it is babble still, but he has added a few more words to his vocabulary lately that are pretty funny. He says "yeah" all the time now & will tell us when he wants to go "night night". He also says "no no no" a lot & shakes his head. It's pretty funny & cute. I really am loving him at this age & stage.
C has been in preschool for 3 months now & really seems to love it. He is learning so much that it amazes me every day. He already knew quite a bit going into preschool, but he is definitely a sponge still. I love when he surprises me with new skills & all of the art work/homework that he brings home. He knows all of his letter sounds now, is working on writing his name & can count past 20! He also knows that days of the week & usually can tell me what month it is. He's going through a bit of a trying time right now & it's been hard on all of us. Three is definitely a much more difficult age for us then two was. =( He's definitely testing his limits more along with exerting his will & stating his opinions much more then before. It's hard to argue with a 3 year old, let me tell you. We've been trying to give him extra love & spend more one on one time with him to see if that helps. I know it's just a phase though that will have to work itself out with time. Other then that, he's still my train loving, inquisitive, sensitive little man.
Other then all that we've just been busy, busy, busy! We made TWO trips to our hometown this month & will be back again for another short weekend the second weekend in January. Our lease in our current house is up at the end of February & we're looking around a bit to see what else is out there. Also, K's business continues to grow & they JUST purchased a new piece of equipment that should go a long way in helping to speed up production & cut costs a bit. His business partner will be here for good come the end of January & will be staying with us for a bit until he can get settled into his own place. We're planning on rescheduling family pictures for sometime in the next few months & will likely have a local photographer (girl from our church) take them instead of our normal photographer or going to a portrait studio. After the 1st, both K & I plan to get back on the exercise bandwagon along with healthier eating. TOTALLY cliche obviously, but we've been lazy for way too long now especially with both a treadmill AND an elliptical in our home we literally have zero excuses for not doing cardio every day. Definitely looking forward to getting back into more of a routine now that the holidays are over & we will be at home more.
Excited to see where this new year takes us especially since this current year has been one with A TON of change & soooo many great times/memories made. Happy New Year's Eve Eve!
