So my second & official baby shower was Saturday & I have to say that it was awesome! It was hosted by my BFF & another very good friend. The shower was supposed to start at 02:30pm, but I showed up a bit early to help with getting things organized & set-up. I'm glad I did show up early because two of the guests actually showed up before 2pm. Yikes!
For the first 30 mins we mostly sat around chatting & then we started out with introductions & games. It was nice because we only had 3 games & none of which were embarrassing for either me or the guests. Definitely my kind of shower! One of the games was a memory game involving the above diaper cake.
Afterward we had a break to eat, drink & do some more socializing. The food consisted of various types of sandwiches on croissants, fruit, chips & punch. We were worried about the amount of food, but it actually turned out to be WAY more then enough. All the ladies ate like birds. Good thing the guys came back later & ate some food as well.
Then it was time to open some presents. Can I just say that my friends/in-laws are the greatest? I think I can. I got a ton of stuff & most of it was stuff I actually needed/was on my registry. I am so grateful to have such stellar friends & family. My BFF went crazy & bought me WAY too much stuff. She actually bought us our car seat! You should have seen the look on my face when I opened that. I could not have been more surprised. I am going to have to do something out of this world to thank her for everything. =)
We did cake after the presents. The theme for my showers seems to be bump cake. lol I love it! My dear friend, Paige, who is a wonderful baker made the cake & did an extraordinary job! Cutting it was quite the predicament, but otherwise it was great. We did more socializing after cake & I am so glad that I got to spend a lot of time talking with everyone. Once guests started to leave, Alison, Kelsey, Joel, Tom & I did the clean up & gift gathering. The boys helped put everything in my car & Joel/Alison's vehicle & drive everything back to my house. So sweet of them. We didn't end up leaving Kelsey & Tom's place until 7pm! I was pretty shocked. I couldn't believe it was that late already. I guess it's true what they say, time flies when you're having fun.
