So I am happy to report that after being at a standstill for about 2 weeks we seem to be back in project mode full force! The dog category is completely crossed off our list. He's still in recovery, but Jack had his neutering appt last Friday. He seems to be healing well thus far & other then being pissed off about having to wear "the cone of shame" he's going great! He'll likely get his sutures/staples out at his check-up this coming Friday & we will be done with it. I am so thankful that we did this before Carter arrives, because dealing with a recovering dog & having the hubby OOT again is no fun. I can't imagine how hard this week would have been with a baby on top of it.
I also had my final baby shower this last Saturday. It was all family & family friends. It was fun & I got a few more things for Carter that I really needed. It was nice getting to see everyone & socialize. I'm kind of relieved that it's over because now I know exactly what WE still need to purchase. Thankfully, I feel like I am finally down to not so many items. The only big items I really have left to purchase our my strollers (the jogger can wait) & my pump. Most of the little things left we could live without other then the car accessories (mirrors, seat protectors, window shades & extra car seat base) & nursing stuff for me. I will probably purchase the car stuff next & then the nursing stuff last. I also got my registry completion from Target in the mail today so I will probably make my final big purchase online here in a few weeks.
One of our big outside projects was completed on Saturday as well. I'm happy we accomplished something outside even if the weather was HORRIBLE that day. I am hoping that we can get a few more outside projects accomplished in the next few weekends since Mr. K & I will both be off of work. Here's to hoping that the weather will cooperate.
Things in the finance dept are definitely looking up. Since we added the new vehicle to our insurance we gained quite a few discounts. Obviously, the premium still went up, but I am planning on just paying the insurance for the next 6 months now just so it's one less bill we will have to worry about. Also, I am thrilled to say that it is looking like I will be able to pay off one of our credit cards & start paying down another before Carter arrives. Yay for being diligent about saving!! We will definitely be able to put the extra $375.00 to use.
You have been busy! Where are you getting all this energy?!
ReplyDeleteIt's not that I really have extra energy...I think it's more of my whole NOW OR NEVER mentality that is kicking in. =) If I don't get this stuff done soon it will probably wait a whole year before we do it. lol
ReplyDeletegood for you for saving! :)
