Stats:
Weight: 16lbs. 5.2oz
Length: 26.75in
Clothing: 6-9 months (Except hats. The XS was too small & the S is too big)
Diapers: Size 3 Full Time. We put away the remaining size 2s.
Milestones:
02/09-02/18--First time trying Green Beans, Peaches/Nectarines, Mango & Carrots. Also, first time trying yogurt. He adores him some yogurt. He finally seems to be getting the whole eating thing down & keeping it in his mouth.
02/12--First time in a baby swing. He thought it was great fun & really seemed to enjoy himself! I can't wait until the weather improves & we can go to the park more often.
02/12--First baseball cap! It's a little bit big still, but oh so adorable! His head is in-between sizes at the moment & the XS was too small. He also got his first winter jacket that day. He looks a bit like the marshmallow man in it. Hehehe.
02/14--First Valentine's day. He got a card from Mimi & Grandpa as well as a cute little lovey holding a Hersey kiss. And he got to spend all day with his momma. <3
02/18--Started eating 3 solid meals a day.
02/18--First time saying Mama & Dada. I don't think he really has a clue as to what either of them mean, but it still made me melt into a pile of goo when he said it. =)
In Other News:
Here we are at just over the 6.5 month mark & someone is FINALLY deciding that maybe it is okay to play at sitting up for a bit. I still think that the majority of the time he falls over on purpose while sitting, but there are still those rare times where he wobbles over accidentally & hits his head. =( Still shooting for 7 months at this point for confident unassisted sitting. I guess it helps that he has several toys that he is finally old enough to play with that just aren't as much fun to play with if you don't sit up. =)
Talking has taken a forefront again in the little man's life. He babbles CONSTANTLY. He now has quite the repertoire of noises & sounds including, but not limited to: Na, Ma, Da, Wa, Ya, Ba, Blah, & La. These would be his favorites. Noise wise, he still loves making his raspberries as well as snorting (on purpose). He finds himself hilarious when he does this.
And I swear, it's time to start baby-proofing the house already as much as I hate to admit it. Baby gates, outlet covers & drawer locks are in our immediate future. Every. single. time Carter gets up on his hands & knees I fear he is going to just take off. Once he does, I know it will be a whole new world & we will have to watch him like a hawk. Oi! He's already a nightmare when it comes to diaper changes & clothing. Squirm worm city! He has taken to rolling as soon as his diaper is removed. I had quite the time getting him ready for bed last night. =)
Sleep has been going well & I really have little to complain about most of the time on that front. Carter still STTN the majority of the time. We have a few bad nights here & there, but otherwise he's doing great. He just goes down a lot easier now & I really do thank modified sleep training for that. He's still taking a pacifier, but at this point I am still okay with that. I know we will have to wean him from it eventually, but now is not the time. We may do it at the same time we wean him from bottles...
He's eating 3 meals routinely now & isn't a big eater most of the time, but he seems to be grasping the concept of eating a lot better then he was even a week ago. He has been trying a ton of new foods & it's amazing how much he loves each new thing he tries. I suppose we are lucky so far that we do not have a picky-eater on our hands. He definitely has a special place in his heart for yogurt with fruit mixed it. I think he could live off of it (solids-wise) alone if we let him.
