Carter: 19 months

Stats:

Weight: 25 pounds, 4 ounces (per our home scale)

Length: Unsure, but guessing approx. 32.5 inches

Clothing: Mostly 18 months, some 12-24 & a very few 2T items.

Shoes: Size 5 wide (5.5 wide in Stride Rites)

Diapers: Size 4 in disposables & highest rise, third snap setting in cloth

Milestones:

02/12: 18 month WCC. Did NOT do well. Barely let the pedi touch him & was very shy. Got two shots, his DTaP & second Hep A in the same leg. Cried for like 2 seconds & was over it. Ripped his band-aids off by himself later that night. =)

02/14: 2nd Valentine's day spent outside. Spent the day with Mimi & 'Apa. Got some new blocks, Baby's Valentine book & a little teddy bear from Mommy & Daddy. Got a Monkey card & a new Sock Monkey from my parents.

02/17: Started saying please & thank you regularly. Such a polite boy! =)

02/22: First trip to the Portland Aquarium. C liked it, but I doubt we will make another trip anytime soon. Not worth the $10+ for Momma to get in.

03/02: Has finally started saying "Momma" & "Mommy" with regularity when talking to me. If he wants something or he is looking for me he will actually call out instead of just whining like before. Yay!!

03/04: FINALLY started giving me kisses without me having to ask for them. He used to think it was a very funny joke to deny his Momma his kisses. It makes my heart melt. <3

In Other News:

Nursing: Still going strong with no foreseeable end in sight. I think if ANYTHING C loves nursing even more now that I am pregnant. And weirdly, my supply seems to be increasing again instead of decreasing. Not to mention that C's stool is back to looking newbornish...it's very weird. Other then that fun fact, we are still doing 2 sessions daily, wake-up & bedtime. C also does ask for milk now by name & will bring me the boppy pillow at bedtime.

Food: I really wish C wasn't so picky sometimes. It makes trying to figure out what he will eat from day-to-day very difficult. I hate wasting food & it's so hard to watch him reject things he loved yesterday & then have to dump them in the trash. =( We will continue to work on it though, all I can do is continue to offer a variety of healthy stuff for him. He is still working on his eye teeth & I am sure that doesn't help anything, but I can't wait until they FINALLY come in fully. His favorite foods of the moment include granola bars, yogurt, crackers (any kind) & melon. We've officially stopped buying "puffs" as he will no longer eat them.

Sleep: C is still sleeping through the night from about 8 until 7-8AM. He does have a bit more difficulty with falling asleep then he used to (mostly my fault because of the pregnancy) & letting him fall asleep in the big bed with me (since our bedtime is now virtually the same). He is also still taking one nap daily in the afternoon for 1.5-3 hours on average. C goes down for naps without
 trouble.

Activities/Play: C's favorite activities recently include going to the park & everything it entails (swinging, sliding, tunnels, climbing), practicing unlocking/locking doors with keys, pretending to vacuum (or mow the lawn), riding his bike, & playing "game" on my computer or phone. We've been on the Fisher Price website a lot & I have no idea how my kid got so smart. He knows the majority of his animals (as well as the sounds they make) & now we are working on his letters & numbers with him. We try to work on colors as well, but I don't think they are sticking as well as the others are. Also, C told me that he had to go the bathroom for the first time this month before he actually went so we are thinking it's time to buy a potty chair so he can practice sitting on it. He seems to be a lot more interested in when we are going to the bathroom as well. I'm not going to push him into potty training too soon, but getting him comfortable with his own little potty can't hurt. He also likes to bring us things (toys, the remote, pieces of lint) & hands it to us while reminding us to say "thank you." lol It's very, very cute.

New words this month: Please, Thank you, Blanket, Computer, Vaccum, Clean (I clean), Phone (instead of talk), Air Plane, Cereal, Bummer, Gosh, Hang on, Stuck (it stuck), Game, Computer, Grandma, Box, Motorcycle, Pizza, Flower, Plant, Bike....and this is where I stop because I literally cannot keep up with the kid anymore! He repeats & retains EVERYTHING. He is definitely just like me when I was little.
