October Fall Fun

So not only did we not make it to the Pumpkin patch this year, but we also didn't end up at the zoo or any of the other fun festive fall events that happen in our neck of the woods. I feel a little sad that Carter didn't get to experience these outings this year (especially with all of our friends cute pictures), but what with me being very pregnant for half of October & having a newborn baby for the other half even the best laid plans fell through. =(

Since we didn't really get out & about, I wanted to make sure that C still got to have some fall fun at home. Yesterday we had a great day!  I dressed the boys up in some of their Halloween best & C had a great time practicing his trick or treating skills with his pumpkin bucket!

C got to paint one of our pumpkins that we had on the porch & he really got into it this year. Last year all he tried to do was eat the paint or wipe it in his hair. This year it was a big hit & entertained him for a good 20+ minutes. He had a blast using all of the different colors & brushes that I gave him to try out. He kept saying "More paint!?" lol

After the pumpkin painting, we headed outside to help Mimi & Grandpa rake some leaves. Carter did more running through the piles then helping, but he had a blast while doing it. It's definitely starting to get cold around these parts, but it was still a gorgeous day yesterday. C's friend Isabella came over & they had a blast throwing acorns to feed the squirrels & going for a ride in the little hand cart.

After dinner C got to decorate a second pumpkin from the porch with his Target dollar bin pirate stickers! I didn't know how well it would work out since it was from the dollar section, but it actually worked out wonderfully & looks so cute! Little brother enjoyed being outside too, but had more fun snuggling with Momma in the carrier & taking a little snooze.

I can't wait to take C out trick-or-treating around the neighborhood! It will be his first year really going out & I'm just thrilled that the weather has decided to hold out for the holiday. More then likely we will either take the double stroller or I will just put Holden in the baby carrier again. We shall see how it goes. One this is for sure, I plan to make sure that Holden is all filled up before we head out because a fussy baby definitely will not add to the fun.
