Mommy time & Gap Flash Sale

It's been another busy week around here as well as a very cranky one for little mister H. His poor teeth are definitely bothering him & to say that he's been a bit whiny would be a major understatement. I love my baby boy, but man has it been trying.That in combination with a toddler who is potty training & testing his limits does not a very good day week make. I almost feel as if I am dealing with one mini-crisis after the next between the two of them. I don't want to get into too much detail, but between flipping off the couch, putting a popcorn kernel up a nose, & getting a lego duplo stuck on a finger the stress level has been a bit higher then usual. Not to mention, someone waking a million & one times a night to nurse. I've definitely been in need of a little down time.

Tonight after putting the kiddos to bed, I pushed aside my mommy guilt of leaving my hardworking hubby home alone & took off to Target to just enjoy an hour of time with just myself. It was honestly magical to just get to browse the aisles & not have to worry about trying to entertain the fussy baby or remind the toddler for the 200th time that he cannot stand up in the cart or ask him if he needs to go potty. I got to look at things & actually try them on instead of having to pray I grabbed the right size only to return the items later if not. No distractions. It was honestly just what I needed. I picked up a second bathing suit, some wall art & finally found some rugs for the laundry room/boys' room. The pictures do not do the suit justice at all, it's cream with gold stripes & the bottoms are gold as well. I seriously love it. The top fits REALLY well & is actually longer then most tankini type tops. It doesn't make me feel inappropriate in the cleavage department & is actually more comfortable & supportive then any other suit I've owned since having children. And as an added bonus, the bottoms were on clearance for $4.48. Yes, seriously. I'm actually pretty excited to get to wear it in SunRiver next month.

I also did a bit of online shopping today since Gap was having a Flash sale with a 40% off code. I usually just buy stuff for the boys at Gap & never anything for myself (too expensive), but today I finally pulled the plug on a few items I had been eyeing for a while. I also had a $10 Reward so I ended up getting all 3 items for a major steal as well as free shipping! The dress was $69.95 regular price & on sale today for $34.99. After the additional 40% & $3.33 reward I ended up getting the dress for just over $17 & nearly 75% off. The Chambray shirt was $54.95 regular price & on sale today for $26.99. After the additional 40% off & the $3.33 reward I scored the shirt for less then $13 & over 75% off. I also snagged a pair of shorts from ON (not pictured) that were on sale for $16.95 with 20% & the $3.33 reward for $10. My total purchase was less then $50. Stoked!

A little alone time, a little shopping & some amazing deals really work wonders for lifting my mood. I am so happy I got to take a little time out for myself even if it was only for an hour. Sometimes that is all it takes to put me back into a positive mood. I'm excited to start a new day with my little guys tomorrow & pray that it is a better one,  but even if it's not...I am ready to tackle it with renewed patience.
