Stats:
Weight: 16 pounds, 10 ounces. On the day his cast was removed, his next official weigh-in won't be until July 31 at his late 9 month WCC.
Length: Literally no idea. I guess we will have our official length on the 31 so I will post his stats in his 9.5 month update.
Diaper:
Size 3 in disposables (Huggies Little Movers), Size small in Little
Swimmers, & third snap, lowest rise in our cloth. I think we may be
able to snap the diapers down to the second snap setting soon though as
they are getting a little tight on the third snap setting.
Clothing:
To be honest, he hasn't been wearing a lot of clothes this last couple
weeks! With his cast putting pants on him just hasn't been very
practical. When he has worn clothes it's been rompers (which I hate!)
& t-shirts. I've put him in shorts twice & so I honestly have NO
IDEA what size he's wearing these days as far as pants are concerned.
My guess though is that very little has changed & that he can still
fit into most 6 month stuff, some 9 month stuff & can also wear a
few 6-12 items.
Shoes: Again, I don't know because he
has not really been wearing shoes, but I am guessing he is still close
to a full-on size 3.
Milestones:

07/04: First 4th of July holiday. He didn't even make it to see the fireworks. Slept right on through..
07/11:
First trip to Sunriver! So excited that we get to got to go on this
trip as a family of four. =) Also, got his cast removed. Yay!!
07/14:
First time STTN!! Yep, it was exciting & has only happened twice
since, but it happened! There is a light at the end of the tunnel after
all.
07/15: 9 Months old. First time swimming in a big
pool, as usual he was unimpressed by the whole ordeal. Unfortunately, he
wasn't feeling well this day & that could have been a contributing factor.
Nursing: Oh my goodness...some days have
definitely been more challenging then others. He's going through a bit
of (what I hope) is a phase right now where he wants instant
gratification. Since nursing isn't always instant, he gets upset &
gives up. There have been several times where I have had to pump &
several times where he has taken a partial bottle or just not had
anything at all. It has been super, super frustrating for both of us
& my patience has really been tested. I've been trying to really
leave it up to him & not worry so much about "going too long"
between sessions & focus on making sure that when he does nurse that
he actually gets a good feed in. It's been a bit better the last few
days with this method, but every day really is a test right now. I hope
we are coming out of this & going back to normal, but honestly only
time will really tell. Currently, he's all over the place as far as how
long we go between sessions, but he's eating about 6-7 times still in a
24 hour period since sleeping through the night is definitely NOT
happening. **And an addendum to this really, since I wrote this prior to
our trip, things have gotten worse. =( He is more or less on a daytime
nursing strike right now & any ounces he takes in after about 11AM
have been from a bottle. He has even been refusing bedtime nursing
lately. I don't know if the problem is teething related or what, but it
is making me really, really sad & I fear that my baby is already on
the path towards weaning by one.
Solids:
Again, it's all about the instant gratification thing. When he sees
food, he wants it NOW & is super vocal about that. He is almost
desperate to a point & it's both funny & a little bit annoying.
=) He is still our super eater & will eat anything & everything
that we offer to him. He definitely has things that he likes better then
others, but he really just loves food in general at this point. We have
given him so many different & new things that it's not even really
worth mentioning each one. His pincher grasp is getting better all of
the time, but he will still let us feed him off of a fork/spoon just as
often as he will feed himself. I would say it's about 50/50 at this
point. He also LOVES when we let him have sips of our ice water &
gets really excited when he sees a glass. He drinks from a regular cup
well when we give him sips, but still can't use a straw. He also
continues to only play with his sippy cups at this point.
Sleep: It's
different all of the time. Some nights he sleep great & other
nights, not so much. =( He has definitely been better about going down
for naps without a fuss & putting himself to sleep. Bedtimes &
staying asleep seem to be another story altogether. We've been really working on getting him to at least go down in the crib, but he NEVER stays there all night. Sleep has been a constant struggle & I doubt that will change until he finally gets some teeth. He did REALLY well with sleeping while we were out of town & actually slept in the pack n' play more often then not (which was great since K & I were sleeping in a full size bed as opposed to our California King). He actually slept through the night twice when we were in Sunriver so I know he can do it & there may be a light at the end of the tunnel after all!
Health: Other then his cast, he's been good. He actually got his cast off the Friday before he turned 9 months & he HATED it. He screamed the whole time they were removing it. Afterward, it definitely took him some time to get used to using his leg again. He is still crawling kind of funny, but he does move it & kick it just like normal. Teething has not been as bad this last couple of weeks & the swelling of his gums seems to have gone down.
Social: He is so, so funny & we definitely see his little personality coming out more & more. He is still so serious about so many things that we would think he would find fun. We took him swimming in a big pool for the first time & he seriously didn't even care. He loves swimming around in the baby pool, but he was totally meh about the big pool. We even tried blowing bubbles with him & he did not love it, he was definitely like meh. lol He is such a different child then his brother was, C literally found joy in everything so it's a different world having such an analytical child. He really is not easily amused & I guess this means that he really is my little mini me. He is also very much like me in that he definitely has a little attitude. If he wants something, he wants it now! Definitely with food, but also with attention from people, toys, non-toys (aka mommy's wallet, glass of ice water, sunglasses) or just anything really. If he does not get his way he will will whine & cry & it's REALLY annoying. I am definitely getting a taste of what I was like as a baby because Hold can definitely be a bit of a brat. He is far from easygoing. He absolutely LOVES people, but especially our close family. He may not be a big cuddle bug, but he does love giving affection to people. He is huge into touching faces & hair & especially into giving kisses. It is soo funny & so sweet, he even makes the little kissing noises when he does it. He giggles out of control when anyone kisses him & thinks it is just the best thing ever. His best friend of all time is our dog, Jack (even if Jack doesn't know it) & he wants to be around him & try to pet him ALL of the time. Even if he is super grumpy & whiny, he will see Jack & immediately get excited & happy. If Jack is in his crate he will crawl over to it & stick his face up against the crate door & "talk" to him. He also crawls all around the house chasing the dog all day long. He has also gotten a lot more friendly with strangers & is more apt to smile & interact with people who talk to him or smile at him. He LOVES being noticed by people & being the center of attention. He still loves to mimic us as far as sounds & facial expressions are concerned and he is babbling a lot more then previously. He still loves to scream & growl like a dinosaur, but he also makes lots of M sounds (mama, mee, mmmm, muh), Buh, Ba, Ya, & Nee mostly, but still no Dada yet.
Physical: Not a whole lot has changed in this area, especially since he has been in a cast for most of the last couple of weeks. He is still not used to crawling without a cast & continues to do his modified crawl. He isn't trying to pull up yet since it's only been off for a few days & still even seems a bit hesitant to stand on it (although, it doesn't seem to pain him when he does). We try not to allow him to put too much weight on it & are easing him back into it. At this point, I highly doubt that he is going to be walking at a year, but obviously only time will tell. H also hasn't really learned anything else new at this point in the physical realm. We've been trying to teach him to wave, clap & give high fives, but he doesn't seem very interested at this point. He can "kind of" high five, but he definitely doesn't care about waving or clapping. Things could obviously change a lot in a month, but for now we're still pretty much where we were a couple of weeks ago. The only new thing really happening is that he is crawling faster& he has discovered that he can crawl from room to room (which mommy is not happy about). Time for even MORE babyproofing!

Likes: Being able to kick both legs again, Mommy's wallet,
baths, being nakey, ice water from a glass/cup, sunglasses, giraffes,
pacifiers, eating solids, Jack, his Uncle Tyty, & moving constantly.
Dislikes: Teething, diaper changes, wearing clothes especially socks & shoes, the sun in his eyes, having to wait for ANYTHING, being in the car for long periods of time, sleeping alone, & nursing =(.
