Milestones:
-First time using his Bumbo chair---He doesn't exactly love it, but he doesn't hate it either. =) I figure it will take some getting used to, but it helps him build his neck muscles so it works out. We have only been putting him in it for 3-5 mins. at a time because I don't want him to get too tired.
-First Vaccinations--He is doing great! So far no fever & just mild fussiness. He received 3 in total & cried a little bit. Thankfully momma had that bottle of BM ready & all was well after that. Don't you know that all the world's problems can be solved with food? He has basically slept since we left the Pedi's office at 2pm. Hopefully he stays okay. Needless to say, this momma is glad it's over with for another two months.
-First time STTN-- !!! I know!!! Yay! I know it might be totally inconsistent for a little while, but I am happy that he is starting to do this before I have to head back to work. So far he has done this two nights in a row! Last night he slept from 10pm-6am & the night before he slept from 10pm-7am.
In Other News:
We tried to do pictures last weekend at 8 weeks old, but Carter was not being very cooperative. We missed out happy baby window & he was just too tired. It's a good thing my friend was going to take the pics & understands that when he is done, he is done. We are going to try again probably next weekend & do some Fall/Halloween themed pictures. My BFF & I are going to go on the hunt tonight to try to find the perfect costume for Mr. Carter. Should be fun!
The whole nap war is about the same. Honestly, some days are definitely better then others."They" say that a baby his age should only be awake for 90 mins. at a time maximum. Yeah....if I want him back to sleep within 90 mins of him waking then he will be going back to sleep 20 mins after he wakes up because it usually takes me at least an hour to get him down for a nap. This includes, but is not limited to: singing, rocking, bouncing, swaddling, re-swaddling, replacing the pacifier, walking around the house....you get my point. I even tried giving in today & letting his sleep in his bouncer & then attempted the swing...with both he passed out for about 5 mins & then woke himself up. After an additional 15min. of rocking he is FINALLY asleep in his crib. Go figure..
He's still eating like a champ & we have introduced a lot more nursing sessions back into the mix. I really do miss that bond & I think he does too. I will usually pump afterward & will only get a tiny bit of milk so it's good to know that he has become a lot more efficient at emptying the breast. He is getting better about spacing out his meals too, he will generally take 3-4oz from a bottle every 2.5-3 hours & sometimes even longer if he's been sleeping. I am finally able to pick up on his cues of being full & it has helped a lot to control the whole spit up issue. We unfortunately, have still been dealing with a lot of gas issues. =( The other night he was pretty much inconsolable until we put him in the bathtub. As soon as we took him out, however, he was back to screaming. Poor baby. We finally gave him an oz of milk with some gas drops mixed in & he was able to pass out for the night. I am hoping that with age this will improve because I hate seeing my poor baby in pain & straining.
His clogged duct is still clogged. The Pedi said it was fine & that there was no need to use ointment or abx or anything. We basically just have to keep doing what we are doing.

Laughing at Momma |
-Carter loves when people whistle at him. It doesn't matter what type of whistle, he just thinks it is the greatest thing EVER!
-He is a MAJOR flirt (look out ladies! We are in big trouble.). Even if he is in a horrible mood for his momma, as soon as one of the girls from work is holding him he turns the charm right on & is the happiest little guy on the block. He will smile & coo & charm the pants off anyone.
