Survival Mode

So...as some of you know, we moved less then a week ago. A move that took us approximately 7 hours from home & clear across the state (almost kitty-corner) from where we were. It's still pretty unreal to me at this point that we are actually here & staying here. K started work yesterday & so today is only my second day doing it COMPLETELY solo with both kids. Today has definitely been better then yesterday. I wish it would stop snowing & melt off so we can start getting some outside time built into our day. It's only a matter of time at this rate before the boys & I get stir crazy.

The house was here (obviously), but I hate to say that our landlords did not do a lot of the work to it that was promised (and unfortunately not in our lease). *whompwhompwhomp* So that has been fun. It also does not have a washer/dryer in unit as advertised. K insists that we already knew this, but I don't seem to recall them mentioning that the washer/dryer were not included. Unfortunately, having come so far & with all of our stuff here there isn't much we could do. No turning back now, so I'm making the best of it. I still really like this house, I just wish our new landlords weren't such space-case flakes. Oi!

Fortunately, the walls in the bedrooms are a lovely light grey! Perfect for the boy's room, right? Sure... if the walls weren't full of nail holes & gross. Basically, my small little repair project (spot painting) has turned into re-painting the boy's entire room. Thank goodness that H is still in with us & that we have the play room for the day time. Other then the bedrooms & my giant pile of laundry, we are definitely starting to feel more settled. My kitchen is 100% unpacked & organized & I LOVE it. The living room is about 80% unpacked & the playroom is good to go.

So for the most part, you haven't missed much. The last few weeks have merely consisted of a mad rush of packing, organizing, traveling & unpacking, organizing & taking care of the kiddos. At this point I feel like I am just FINALLY coming out of survival mode & I don't feel as guilty about taking 5 mins to sit down & write up this post. Either way, we're still here. And I promise to be back soon to your regularly scheduled blogging program. =)
