Stats:
Weight: 13 pounds, 9.5 ounces on the clinic's scale last
Friday so I guess his 4 month weight was correct. I can't believe my little
chunker is only 13 pounds. Sheesh!!
Clothing: Mostly in his 3-6 & 6 month clothing, but
definitely still able to fit into some 3 month sized stuff as well. I keep
waiting for him to outgrow them & he just doesn't. I guess it's because
he's more round then he is long. =)
Diapers: Size 2 in disposables (Huggies Little Snugglers)
& first snap setting, lowest rise in our cloth. We have been using a lot of
disposables this last few weeks due to the traveling, lack of washer & more
traveling! I can't wait to get them both back into cloth...I hate all the
garbage & waste that comes from all of these disposables. Bah!
Milestones:
02/21: First big move. He didn't do as well on the car ride
up this time, but it was more or less what I expected. He's definitely becoming
more aware & I think he could sense the stress a bit. I also don't think
that the teething is helping the situation.
02/22: First day/night in our new house!!
02/23: First time in the exersaucer. He loves it! He
literally tries to bounce around the whole time. I ended up putting a blanket
in with him to restrict his movement just a little bit though because he was
throwing himself around so much it was freaking me out.
02/25: First time really jumping in the Johnny Jumper. I
finally realized that he was sitting too low in it & as soon as I raised it
up, surprise! He knows just what to do. It's hilarious how much my kid loves
to be upright & to bounce.
03/01: First interaction with another baby. He loved it, she
cried.
03/04: First full day of napping in the crib. It's gone
well, surprisingly. lol We will be doing this from now on to prep for
night-time crib sleeping in the coming months.
Nursing: He's still doing wonderfully & fortunately we
have been problem-free thus far. He still gets distracted occasionally, but it's
not as bad as it was previously. I am sure this whole distracted thing is going
to continue to come & go the more aware of the world he becomes. He's
eating every 2.5-3 hours during the day on average. Nighttime nursing is another
story all together, some nights he wants to nurse every 2 hours & other
nights he will go in 4+ hour stretches. His schedule is kind of irregular at
this point & we are still nursing 100% on demand. He has not taken another
bottle & honestly, we haven't even tried again. It's not a huge deal for me
to just go ahead & nurse him since he is with me nearly 100% of the time
anyway. We don't have a babysitter since we've moved & there is no where to
go that we can't take the kiddos at this point anyway. Since he's already over
4.5 months & we will be to six months before we know it we are just going
to skip bottles & go straight to the sippy. We shall see at that time if he
prefers to take pumped milk from a cup or not.
Sleep: Has also been hit or miss this last few weeks. I'm
not sure if he's truly going through a wakeful period or if all the change +
gas + teething is the culprit. I am leaning more toward the latter though
considering some nights he does A LOT better then others. He hasn't given me
anything over 4-5 hours in a stretch since my last update. He is still going
down by 7:30-8PM every night when C does, but very rarely stays asleep &
often will wake-up multiple times until 10PM. I usually don't feed him again at
10 unless he is REALLY awake & upset because I don't want to train him to
wake-up at this time for a feeding. Napping is going okay, he does let me know what
he is ready to lay down & goes to sleep most of the time without much fuss.
Often times I can lay him down & with very little interference from me he
will put himself to sleep. Unfortunately, he naps about as well as he goes down
at night. He will usually sleep for 20-45 mins & then will wake-up clearly
still very tired. =( About 1/2 of the time I can get him to go back to sleep
for another 30-45 mins, but I wish he would just sleep straight through on his
own. He usually takes about 3-4 naps daily depending on what time we wake-up.
His average wake-up time in the morning is between 8-8:30AM. He is currently
still sleeping with us during the nighttime & will likely continue this for
a few more months. We don't plan on starting any form of sleep training anytime
soon. He still takes a paci to sleep & he also likes to have his lovey to
cuddle with now. It's pretty darn cute. =) He isn't like his brother at all &
prefers to either sleep on his side or on his back.

Health: Still doing well on this front. We're into March
& have *thank the lord* thus far alluded any colds/flus in our house. He
handled his 4 month immunizations just fine & with very little incident
this time around. He does still seem to be teething quite badly, but no sign of
any little white caps just yet. The fussiness, drooling like a maniac &
chewing on everything in sight is still very much in effect. We have a teething
necklace on him, but I honestly can't tell if it's helping or not. I figure it
can't hurt though at any rate.
also loves any attention he gets from his big brother (even negative attention). He's still big on pulling hair, clothing & jewelry, but has also started trying to grab things out of people's hands (books, food, cups, ect). He lights up with the biggest smile when he sees people he loves & will make the most adorable squealing noise you have ever heard. He's definitely far more serious of a baby then his brother ever was & isn't as social with strangers, but if you get a smile or giggle you know that you've earned it. He still hasn't really taken much notice of the dog as of yet. He isn't as much of a talker as C was at this age, but he definitely is opinionated & loud when he wants to be. He makes the BEST angry cat noises when he's mad. I really need to get them on video.
