Stats:
Weight: 9 pounds, 8.6oz
Length: 22 inches
Head: 14.75cm
Clothing: She is fully in 0-3 & 3 month clothing now. Everything newborn has been outgrown already & I can't believe it! She's so long that everything was too short. The only "newborn" clothes that still fit were not store bought.
Diapers: She is wearing size 1 diapers full-time now.
Shoes: She barely fits into her crib sized shoes anymore & is slowly working her way into size 1s.
Nursing:
She's still doing well, but does she nurse A TON. During the day it's
every one to two hours (or less) until she eats enough to pass out for a long nap. Usually she'll sleep about 3ish hours only to wake up & start the process over again. She
definitely uses nursing as her comfort crutch at this point since she
still refuses a pacifier the majority of the time. She usually nurses
fairly quickly
doing about 10-15 mins per side, but when she's nursing for comfort it
can be a lot longer. She doesn't always nurse on both sides, but is getting better about that most sessions. At this point we don't have a
schedule & I'm not sure how many times a day she is eating as we
aren't tracking it (BUT IT'S A LOT). She is still nursing 100% on demand at this point as
that
seemed to work best with Holden & thus far it's working well for
Madeline too.
Sleep: I wouldn't say she's a great sleeper as this point, but she's doing
okay. Currently she's going down for the night between 7/8PM after cluster feeding like crazy. She's been doing a good 4 hour stretch & has been sleeping about 9:30-1:30AM the last few nights. She usually wakes up after that between 4:30/5AM & today she went back to sleep after each feeding easily & woke for the day at 8AM. I hope this trend continues, because I feel a lot more rested today then I have because of it. I'm not sure at this point whether
she'll be a paci kid like Holden ended up being or if she'll be a thumb
sucker since at this point she STILL isn't a huge fan of the paci. She has
been taking it a *little* bit more this week, but not always easily. And
just like H, she only likes one brand of paci (which for her happens to
be the Soothie). I did purchase a different kind of paci for her online & I'll see how that goes when it gets here. She doesn't
startle
herself awake often (like Carter did) & thus far we haven't been
swaddling her for naps/nighttime as she doesn't seem to need it. Although, she does prefer to be wrapped up or cuddled in a blanket to get to sleep.
Currently she is sleeping with us in our bed, but this is just par for
the course as far as our kids are concerned. I don't forsee moving her
to her own room for at least a few months or until she is STTN
regularly. During the day, she naps either in our bed, in the rock n'
play or on us. She is definitely a cuddle baby & loves to be
held/snuggled while she sleeps.
Other: She's gotten so much more alert this week & is finally starting to get into a little pattern during the day with wake/sleep. She's very quite & observant some of the time while awake & other times she's a little fussy grumpy butt. She is definitely working on her dramatic little diva attitude already. She lost her umbilical stump finally this week & I'm pretty certain she's going to have an outie belly button....so weird! lol
Milestones:
02/24: She FINALLY lost her umbilical stump.
02/28: First time crying actual tears. Seriously this always gets me & is the saddest thing EVER as far as baby milestones are concerned.
02/29: Visited Wenatchee & she got to meet our friends there & her baby friend, Teagan for the first time.
03/01: One month old! One month WCC & first time rolling from belly to back. Crazy child! And I didn't even get to actually see it. =(
Likes: EATING!! Momma, Music, being rocked, her brothers & Daddy.
Dislikes: Baths, being restrained, pacifiers, & having to wait for food.
Nicknames: Madds, Mad-Mad, Maddie Moo, Sissy, & Baby Maddie (Carter)
