So...like a quite a few other mommies-to-be that I know, the hubby & I have quite an extensive TO-DO list. Basically our list is broken down into 6 categories: Inside, Outside, Nursery, Dog, Car & To buy. I am happy to say that within the last week we have crossed off or at least started on 6 projects.
The dog was our major focus this week. He had his trip to the vet on Tuesday which included his well exam & shots. Glad to report that the little guy checked out with a perfect bill of health. He also got his Bordetella (Kennel cough vacc.) which turned out to be up the nose for dogs. Yeah, he was pretty angry about that one. Then on Friday we took him into the groomers for a shampoo, cut, nail trim & ear wash. We also updated his flea & tick protection & are working on more training as far as jumping up is concerned. I think he is doing a very good job & will be just fine when Carter arrives. =) The only thing left on his list is the appt for neutering. Yep....poor little guy, but it must be done before the baby arrives. Being a boy dog, Jack definitely loves to mark his territory. I don't need all my precious little boy's brand new stuff getting "marked." He has been a lot better about it lately & does know that nursery is off-limits to him, but still we aren't taking our chances. This appt will be made after Mr. K returns from his business trip next week.
Since the weather here has been pretty horrible lately, a lot of the outside stuff is suffering & may end up being the last stuff crossed off our list. =( However, I have finished one major inside project & will be done with another tomorrow. =) All of these small home improvements that we have been slacking on really aren't that time consuming at all. I'll just be happy if we can accomplish one non-nursery related inside task a week. After the dog, the car will be the new main focus.
The nursery is coming along & is something that I work on daily if I can. I am constantly updating, organizing & thinking of new decorative ideas. Not to mention washing & putting away baby clothes/gear. I can't wait until I have everything I need so that I can get everything complete & in place. Assuming Carter does not try to come early we still have a little ways to go, but 61 days isn't really that long at all in the grand scheme of things.
In other news about getting things together, I am happy to report that not only do have more then $3500 saved towards a down payment on our new/new to us car, but I also was able to pay off another credit card in full. So far with all the cutting of expenses & paying things off we are saving ourselves $450+ a month already. Come July we are cutting out another expense which will save us an additional $65 a month & I hope to at least get one more of the credit cards paid off before Carter arrives. It will be very nice to be mostly debt free. =)
All & all I feel pretty good about our progress & only hope that we can keep up the momentum.
