Milestones this week:
-1st Size 1 Diaper
My child is getting big ya'll. We were almost out of the newborn ones anyways & they were just getting way too tight around his poor little legs. On Saturday, he weighed in at 8lbs 10.8oz & 22in long! I do believe that he will be 9lbs by next weekend. He is eating 4oz bottles at night & 3oz bottles during the day anywhere between every 2-3 hours unless he's taking a long nap. We finally transitioned to the Dr. Brown's bottles & those seem to be making a significant difference in the amount that he spits up. As far as gas goes, he does seem to have a lot of that despite how often & how long we burp him. It has been causing the poor little guy a lot of discomfort & mommy spends a lot of time rubbing his poor little belly. =( I started putting gas drops in his bottles & we'll see if they make a difference or not. Carter will NOT take medication at all unless it is mixed in with his food.
-1st Fever. =(
Granted, it was low grade, but it was still there. I called his pedi & they didn't seem too concerned. I knew he was okay, but I just didn't want to be that bad momma who thinks her kid is fine when he's not. Fortunately, it left as quick as it showed up. I have no idea what the cause was since he was pretty much fine otherwise. He was a little bit cranky & didn't sleep well the night before, but he was eating fine & wasn't lethargic.

Bath Time |
Yeah, it lasted all of 30 mins. I would consider that a failed attempt. We will keep trying. I am focusing on naps right now & starting from there. I don't want my kid to be the one who has NO self-soothing methods. Hence why we are no longer "feeding to sleep." If he eats & then falls asleep & doesn't wake back up then great, but if he does....he does NOT automatically get more food just because he's awake. There are other ways to get the baby to sleep & I don't want my kid to only associate sleep with eating. No, I am not doing sleep training & no, I am not letting my kid "cry it out," but I am going to put him down when he is drowsy & let him fall asleep on his own. I want him to be able to fall asleep without momma next to him or in the same room.

Can't get enough of that smile |
Another milestone this week was more for me then baby. I finally got the balls to take my first shower while home alone with Carter. He was napping & so I took my opportunity. Fortunately for me, he didn't wake up while I was actually in the shower--granted, I will admit that it was one of the quickest showers of my life. =)
Things I learned this week: Carter loves napping on his tummy(don't worry, I don't leave him alone like that) & he loves when mommy sings in the car. He thinks that it's funny when someone farts (especially him) or when they make farting noises with their mouths (such a boy!!). He loves when people blow raspberries on his tummy. He is also really loving bath time with daddy. He didn't enjoy his first few baths at home, but I think mommy was being overly cautious & made the water too cold. =( Mommy just leaves bath time to daddy & baby now which seems to be going better & better every time.
Ohhh my goodness, I guess I didn't realize, but I evidently haven't had much time to go through and read my blogs I keep up with, because I hadn't gotten to see your stinkin' cute little man!!! What an adorable guy!! I'm serious, he's soooo cute!!!! :]
