Weight: 15lbs. 11.6oz (as of yesterday)
Length: 26in
Clothing: 6-9 months
Diapers: Size 2, but I think we will be moving up to Size 3s as soon as we run out of the box that we have. They are getting a tad snug around the legs again.
Milestones:
01/20--First time sleeping for a 10+ hour stretch over night. Carter has consistently been going 10 hour stretches since then. =) With only one badish night out of the last 10!! Yay!
01/20-01/29--First time trying sweet potato, butternut squash & banana. I am having such a great time making my own food & I love introducing Carter to new ones! We will start apple on Wednesday. =)
01/23--First time getting up on hands/knees & trying to rock himself forward. We are getting closer & closer to crawling all the time! I am not ready for a mobile baby yet!
01/28--First time wearing 6-9 months sized clothing. He was just getting TOO long for his old pajamas & onesies. Not to mention his little pants were starting to look like high-waters. The only 3-6 months clothes that still fit well at this point are his little t-shirts & hoodies. I think we will be able to continue using those for a bit longer.
01/28--First playdate! We got together with some of my co-workers & their babies. It was a lot of fun.
01/28--First major bout of stranger-danger. Carter had major separation anxiety at our play date. =( Poor guy cried & cried & cried when anyone else tried to hold him. He finally warmed up to one of my co-workers after about 20 mins. & then he was okay with me holding her baby while she held/played with him & her 2 year old son.
In Other News:
Carter is officially taking 6oz bottles every 3-4 hours when I am at work now. He seems to do pretty well with those & seems much more satisfied then before. He is eating 5-6 times on average daily. His new schedule seems to be pretty consistent for the moment. He eats at 6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM & then again at 7:30/8 (bedtime). He can hold his own bottle most of the time now, but I still insist that people hold him to feed him. I don't feel safe with him lounging & drinking his bottle alone. So far, everyone has been happy to oblige on this one. He usually has one solid meal in there somewhere, either shortly after his 12PM feeding or his 3PM feeding. We've just kind of been playing it by ear & feeding him the solids when his mood is right. I think we'll stick with one meal a day for now until we see his Pedi next week since I still feel like it's mostly practice at this point. He absolutely HATES sitting in his highchair. I think maybe it's because he's completely restricted. Poor kid. He also likes to try to feed himself & will not generally let momma put the spoon in his mouth. He wants to do it himself so I usually just end up handing him the spoon with food on it at this point. ::Sigh:: Why is my kid so stubborn on some things? We'll keep working at it.
Nighttime sleep is going extremely well! Carter is finally STTN consistently. It has been VERY nice to finally get 6-7 hour straight stretches of sleep. He usually goes down around 07:30-8PM & will sleep until about 6AMish. I'll change him, nurse him & then he will usually go back down until around 08:30-08:45AM. It's great to finally have some predictability in his sleep. =) Daytime sleep is another story. He is still having screaming fits at EVERY.SINGLE.NAP. Yep, as soon as we lay him down in his crib he will start screaming. It does not matter one little bit how tired he is, he still throws a fit. He refuses to take a pacifier (which I'm okay with) & will not be soothed in the crib. I hate just having to let him scream, but I know he's tired & I know there is nothing wrong with him. I feel like he's starting to exert his will & test our limits. Oi! I am not ready for that yet. This is exactly what I feared sleep training would be like from the beginning. Boo! Other then that, we have cut his naps down to two daily because of this.
Carter is still not sitting well unassisted, but he's improving every day. At this point, I am shooting for the 7 month mark for him to be a "confident" sitter. Until then, we plan to keep him in his infant car seat. Thankfully, he's only at half the weight/length limit. Unfortunately, he is getting pretty heavy to carry around in that thing. Oh well, it's a great arm work-out, I guess.Trying to crawl on the other hand, is a completely different story. I put him on the floor last week & he got up on all fours & started trying to rock himself forward. Again, Oi! I am not ready for a mobile child! I have a feeling he's going to try to crawl before he sits. Sheesh.
