Solids

First taste

Yum this is good!

More please
I've totally got this Mom
So we started solids a bit earlier then planned. Carter has been showing signs of readiness the last week or so, but we were unsure. We figured we would give him a test run & if it didn't go well we would try again in a few more weeks. I think he is wondering what the heck took us to soooo long to give him something this delicious.

FYI, we skipped the rice/oatmeal cereal & went straight for the Avocado. Needless to say, he's a little pig & he loves it. Obviously, I made this food myself with 1/2 a pureed Avocado mixed with BM. And it's true, almost as much comes back out as goes in, but he's getting the hang of it slowly, but surely.

We're going to stick with Avocado until Friday & then try another food. I'm not sure what kind I want to make next, but I am thinking probably either sweet potato or carrot. =) I'm excited to see how he likes those foods as well. To start, we are doing 1 meal a day after his 4pm bottle. We'll probably move up to two meals a day in a few weeks. We'll see what the Pedi says at his 6 month WCC.

  1. That is awesome! Was it pretty easy to make the food yourself? (Also, I have to admit that when I saw you mixed avocado with BM, I totally read it as "bowel movement" at first, and was really confused. But I figured it out...)

  2. Charlie has loved carrots and sweet potatoes (um, I guess he loves everything, so far!). We're getting ready to try avocado soon... but they have been so expensive lately!

  3. The avocado was probably the easiest one I'll have to make other then bananas. =) Pretty near the desired consistency. And E, that's hilarious! You gave me my giggle for the day. <3

Laura-I'm super excited for him to try different things! I think we are going to try sweet potato next. =) I hope Carter does as well as Charlie!
