Stats:
Weight: Approx. 18lbs (haven't weighed him at work lately)
Length: 28ish inches
Clothes: (6-)9 months, 6-12 months & size 2-3 shoes
Diapers: Size 3
Milestones:
04/15--First time trying blueberries. Technically it was in yogurt, but still. =)
04/16--First time trying graham crackers. I think he has a NEW addiction. Very messy, but he loved them.
04/21--First road trip! 3+ hours in the car to Newport. He did really well & slept most of the way there.
04/21--First time at the beach. He wasn't a big fan of sand on his feet, but he loved the ocean. He probably would have rolled around in the water if we'd let him.
04/21--Learned to clap! So cute, even if he was practicing his new found skills WAY past his normal bedtime.
04/21--First time sleeping away from home. Not so great. =( He didn't go to sleep until 09:30PM the first night & after 10pm the second night. Eeek!
In Other News:
Sleep-- Naps are seriously GREAT! I thought I had a bad napper, but things have been going really well lately. Most days he takes at least 1 2-3 hour nap. Nighttime sleep is about the same (even with tooth number 3 coming in). He will still wake anywhere between 0-2 times nightly, usually only once though & will fall back to sleep immediately after eating.
Solids--Going well! We started giving him a lot more "adult" food this week. He has tried ham, pickles, olives, lemon, blueberries (not in yogurt), ground sausage & other favorites in bite sized form. He also still prefers to drink from a cup instead of a sippy, water only at this point. We are doing a lot less purees as he does not seem as interested in being fed. The only thing he will still take off a spoon without protest is yogurt. We switched over to Yo-baby this week. We are still trying to work in our 3 "meals" a day, but it usually ends up being more like 2 meals & a snack with dinner as the main meal.
Nursing--Other then being distracted a lot during daytime feedings (we're making it work regardless) things are still going swimmingly! We are still nursing 5-6 times daily on averages & anywhere between every 3-4 hours. I can't believe we are to almost 9 months of nursing. =) While mom is at work Carter takes 5oz bottles still.
Play--Into anything & everything we can get our hands on. Carter is crawling normally now & is VERY fast! He is also practicing trying to stand every chance he gets. I think pulling himself up on the GG's coffee table was a fluke as he won't pull up on anything other then momma's/daddy's hands that I have seen since this supposed happening. He will only get up as far his knees before he gets "stuck." He also hasn't quite figured out how to get down from a standing position without falling yet. Oops! His favorite toys this week are doggy (luvie), Sophie (the giraffe) & his old car seat toys that make the wind chime noises. He is finally able to play by himself for more then 5 mins at a time. This is great for momma who always has lots to do around the house.
