In Other News:
Sleep has been bad again this last few weeks between being out of town & the teething C has been a handful to get to sleep. He's also had a few really bad nights where C & Momma have been up anywhere between 3-5 times. We're really hoping that the teeth or tooth pop through soon because C has been a HOT mess lately. I finally bit the bullet & ordered an Amber teething necklace from Inspired by Finn & I'm hoping it will help him some. I am willing to try anything to ease the kid's discomfort. Naps have also been exciting lately. C seems to think that at 9 months old that he can cut it down to 1 nap per day. Granted, it's a 2.5 hour nap at least, but sheesh! I can not have a baby who is only down to 1 nap per day!! Quit trying to grow up so soon little boy.
Eating has been an adventure lately! C is starting to refuse anything on a spoon & insist on feeding himself (his pincher grasp has really improved) or having us place the food in his mouth with our fingers. If we try to feed him off of a spoon he will simply spit the food back out. It's pretty funny, although we try not to laugh. C has also been eating a lot more finger foods & we have completely stopped going by the 3 day rule. At this point, not much is off limits to him food-wise (other then the obviously no-nos). We figure that since he hasn't had a reaction to anything thus far that we are good to go! Bottles are starting to become a challenge as C doesn't seem to have the time for them. We're still doing 5oz & I don't think we'll ever increase the amount again since he's eating so much more solid food. He is still nursing 5-6 times daily when Momma is home & taking 4 bottles while Momma is at work.
Playing takes on a whole new meaning when you can explore room-to-room. C has finally figured out that he can crawl long distance & boy is the kid fast! His favorite place to crawl is into his bathroom where he will get up on his knees in front of the bathtub. I think he's hoping that if he sits there long enough I will get the memo & put him in. =) Besides being a crawling machine, C's other favorite activity is trying to pull up on toys, furniture, people...basically anything he can get a grip on. I'm sure he would try to pull up on the dog if he would stay still long enough to let him. He's also getting into ANYTHING & EVERYTHING that he shouldn't. If it's off-limits, he wants it. Fortunately, he does pretty well with being re-directed & we haven't had a lot of "tantrum"-like behavior.
Our boy is a babbling machine & says bababa, dadada, wawawa, yayaya, something that resembles hey or hi & then many other noises & strings of non-sense. Unfortunately, he seems to have lost mamama somewhere along the way, but I am hoping to hear that one purposefully soon. His all time favorites are still his fake cough (which he uses to get our attention) & the something that resembles a dinosaur which I like to refer to as his "pterodactyl" shriek (which he does when he is UBER excited).
