In honor of Father's Day, C & I decided to do a mini at home photo shoot for daddy. I bought the letters at Walmart (of all places) & we borrowed a backdrop from daddy.
The pictures turned out pretty well (I think) despite the fact that C would NOT sit still. Although, since he is UBER adorable it's pretty hard to take a bad picture of him (bias much?! *wink*)
These are just a few of the MANY attempts to get some good pics with C & the letters. The finished product is really cute & included the 4 pictures you see here (all in Sepia tone).
I got them printed in order on a 5"x7" card with a light blue border. I then bought a nice black wooden stand up frame & we framed it for K. He loved it!
He even found a special spot for it in his home office since he doesn't have a desk job at work. I'm really glad that we made the effort & will definitely be doing more DIY photo projects at home in the future.
We also got daddy a card from C & one from Momma as well as a McDonald's gift card. K loves him some breakfast sandwiches. I may be on a diet, but as I have mentioned before K is one of those people who can eat anything & remain thin.
We slept in on Father's Day! I like to think that it was C's gift to his daddy (who definitely needed some good sleep). When we got up & ready we decided to head out to Biscuits for breakfast. It was pretty busy (due to the holiday), but it was VERY good! It was our first time eating there, but we will definitely be going again.
C did very, very well despite the long wait, but would not sit still long enough or smile for Momma to get a good picture. I did however snap this one outside the restaurant after breakfast of C & K.
After breakfast, we headed over to my parent's house to visit with my Dad for Father's Day. C gave grandpa his Father's Day card & we also got him an Amazon gift card. My dad is SUPER hard to shop for & so this was the perfect thing for him.
We once again had a hard time getting a good picture at my parent's house, but my brother did snap this one & I LOVE IT! I think it captures the personality of our little family perfectly.
After leaving my parent's house, we took C to the clinic to get him weighed. He ended up weighing in at 19lbs. 5.4oz. On the way home, we stopped by Fred Meyer & bought C a baby pool. Unfortunately, by the time we got home it was too windy out to use it.
C fell asleep in the car & we ended up letting him stay in there with the windows rolled down while K & I worked on the yard. He woke up shortly there after & played on the drive-way with Jack until Daddy brought his exersaucer outside.
We got a ton of work done on the side yard & are definitely a little bit closer to getting ready to put up our new fence. Unfortunately, we ended up eating left overs for dinner. I had made a plan to make brisket & potatoes, but I neglected to check the cook time & at 7pm a 3.5-4 hour cook time was not going to work.
All in all, it was a great day & I think that K really enjoyed himself. We didn't do anything super special, but we spent the day together, as a family & that is what matters the most. =)
