Lemons

We've had some unforeseen complications with the house & after only two weeks we were forced to pull it off the market. =( It's disappointing, but we have to deal with the issues that have arisen before it will even be possible to sell to anyone. Unfortunately, it looks like we may be holding onto our house for the next 5 or so years. Since we are unable to sell it at this time we only have one other option & that is to rent it out. Fortunately, our realtor was kind enough to be understanding of our situation & let us out of our contract with him scot-free. That in the least, is a blessing.

So the new plan is to contract the work we need to have done & finance the HUGE out of pocket costs. We hope to have renters into the house by September. It's REALLY cutting it close as far as saving ourselves any money is concerned in the interim, but we don't really have much other choice. We don't want to move back into the house & at least renting it out would help to subsidize some of our lost income when Holden arrives & my last day of work gets here. In the meantime, I am going to have to start hoarding money like a mad-woman. =( Every EXTRA penny we have is going directly into our savings account since this is definitely a "rainy" day & more may be coming. I have faith that the lord is working in some mysterious ways & that his plan for all of this will reveal itself in due time. I never thought 5 years ago when we bought our first home that the future would bring with it so many complications.

AKA, there goes my dreams of baby clothes/item shopping & pre-house decorating for the time being. It's okay though, I know that we will be taken care of & that our boys little will have everything they need to feel safe, secure, happy & loved. I just thank the lord for our family & our current 100% free living situation. It may not be ideal & we may not have a ton of our own space at the moment, but I have never been so grateful for our tiny space until this week.

So we've been thrown a few lemons & now it's time to make some lemonade. I'll let you know how it all goes..
