Months 2 & 3: Must-haves

I know this is WAY late, but I really did want to get this posted up so when baby #3 comes around I can look back on this & be like.."totally!" So here's my baby love list for months two & three in no specific order:

1.) A Swing. I know that these can be hit & miss, but for H it was a major win. We got the Graco
Swing By Me 2-in-1 Portable Swing & I absolutely love the adjustable height mechanism. When you are dealing with limited space (like in our previous home) the swing being compact was important to me. I also like in the lowered position that it is super close to the floor (especially since H is a wiggle worm now & I don't tend to use the seat belt as often as I should). It also runs on batteries only, but the battery life is pretty awesome (considering he's almost 5 months now & we are only on our second pair).

2.) Sakura Bloom Ring Sling. Yes, a baby carrier was also among my one month must-haves, but this sling is amazing! It's comfortable, easy to use & H adores being in it. It is also a whole heck of a lotsafer then the HotSlings carrier was. Sakura Bloom slings are on the pricer side, but it is worth every penny & has definitely paid for itself. We have a linen one & although I haven't worn it in the summer yet, I feel like it is very breathable. It is also very aesthetically pleasing & comes in a variety of colors. Not to mention a choice between linen or silk. =)

3.) Bumbo chair. Yes, these things had a recall at one point due to stupid people putting their babies in them on top of the counter or whatever, but that's just plain idiocy. They have now added a seat belt for extra safety, but bottom line is don't put your kid on a high spot in a little chair. Duh. Anyway, H LOVES this. He wants to be a big boy like his brother & sit up all of the time so that Bumbo is a savior for some supported sitting help. It also helps a lot with practicing head & neck control starting at a young age. We started using it right around the two month mark & still use it almost daily (at almost 5 months).

4.) Sophie the Giraffe. Again, a little pricey as far as dog baby toys are concerned, but it is definitely a winner. We bought it when C was little & he passed it down to his baby brother (after a good sanitizing of course). This thing is a teething baby's savior & a mother's best friend. H loves to nom on Sophie's face & feet. She's soft & squishy & just the right consistency for baby's emerging teeth. He also finds the squeaking noise she makes to be utterly hilarious. She's made of natural rubber & food paint & is BPA free. This is a definite no brainer especially since she's also kind of cute.

5.) Nuk brand bottles. We have tried EVERY brand of bottle on the market that is sold in stores, Dr. Brown's, Avent, Tommee Tippee, Playtex, you name it...we've tried it. H refused every.single.one, except the Nuk brand. It was a total life-saver for us during the time when we were trying to get him
to take a bottle. We've since given up on the whole ordeal, but you best believe that when it comes to sippy cups in the next month or so we will definitely be trying the Nuk brand first.
