5 On Friday

Back again linking up with the ladies below for another 5 on Friday.

{ONE} We have a pretty nasty cold running rampant through our house this last few weeks & currently both boys have it. =( C is on the tale end & H has been sick about 2 days, but both have a terrible cough & are so, so grumpy. It seems to have a bit of an incubation period since K picked it up first so I'm just PRAYING that it skips me & I will somehow come out of this one unscathed. I can not imagine being home all week with two healthy boys while I'm sick as a dog. So far I'm still feeling pretty good, but obviously only time will tell on this one. Send good thoughts my way that I remain healthy!

{TWO} So...along with my healthy lifestyle this last couple months has also come a renewed love for running. I've been running probably 4-5 days a week anywhere between 1 & 3 miles daily. I've always had issues with my right leg & getting shin splints. Quite annoying! And lately it's been seeming to worsen (probably due to the increased running schedule) so at the suggestion of several friends I went ahead & ordered some compression socks. I am not hoping that they improve my performance or anything, I simply hoped that they would help with the pain during & post-run. So far, they have done just that!! I am SERIOUSLY in love. They were a tad bit pricey, but worth every single penny. I will definitely be ordering another pair.

{THREE} And in other happy news, I finally met one of our new(er) neighbors! She is the sweetest woman & she not only offered to get me some information about a local mommy group, but she also invited us to visit her church (she didn't bring it up, I mentioned it)! I'm excited to get more involved with our community & meet some new people. It's been kind of lonely with just myself & the boys while K is at work all week so it will be amazing for all of us to make some new friends. Also, the church has both a nursery (for H) & children's church for C. I am really anxious to check it out & hopefully we will attend for the first time on Sunday. K isn't huge on the idea of going to church, but even he agreed to go to this one. I really feel like God knew that this is what we needed & is calling us to this opportunity.

{FOUR} Even though I'm working on my fitness lately & trying to get my body back a bit, I don't have unrealistic expectations for this summer. On that line, I've been window shopping for one piece swimsuits. It gets quite hot where we are now & with being surrounded by so many bodies of water it's going to be nearly impossible to avoid the need for a suit. Here are some of the options I've been considering:

{FIVE} We started doing a little of bit of "school" at home with C in this last week. We haven't done it everyday since someone has been constantly sick, but he does seem to enjoy it. I bought a few workbooks for us to work out of & he surprises me everyday by how much he already understands & is capable of at only 2.5 years old. The workbooks are for Preschool ages 3-5, but I figured he would be able to at least do some of it & I was more then right. I'm excited to help better prepare him for when he starts Preschool in the fall, it's really not as far away as we'd all like to think.
