Stats:
Weight: 14 pounds, 4.5 ounces (on the clinic scale)
Length: 26 inches
Diapers: Size 3 in disposables, Huggies Little Movers. Lowest rise, first snap setting in our cloth , Bumgenius & Pumpkin Bums.
Clothing: Mostly wearing both 3-6 & 6 month clothing currently, but can still currently fit into some of his 3 month sized stuff. It's crazy, I know!!
Shoes: Size 2s when he wears actual shoes (which isn't often).
Milestones:
03/19: First night going down for the night in the crib. He did just fine once he fell asleep & stayed down until almost midnight. At that time we moved him in with us.

03/21: First time on a swing. He just sat on my lap, but he really seemed to enjoy it & was smiling
the whole time. =)
03/25: First night sleeping in the crib overnight. He woke up at 10PM & then went back down in the crib until 1:30AM. He was then up again at 4AM. Sleeping in the crib didn't seem to affect how often he wakes up, at all.
03/26: First Size 3 disposable diaper. I can't believe he's wearing these already, but it was seriously necessary. He was having too many leaks in the 2s & they were getting too snug around his little chunky legs.
03/29: First bout of separation anxiety/stranger danger. =( I totally did not see this one coming AT ALL. He freaked out when my cousin picked him up & even for my mom. It took him a long time to calm down & be able to be held by someone other then me. He also freaked out of my BFF a few days later, but not nearly as bad. It seems that as long as I am in the room & he can see me it's alright if someone else holds him.

03/30: Met his new cousin, Alexander for the first time. He seriously loves him already & I just know they are going to be BFFs.
Nursing: Not much change in this area. Things are still going well & we are still nursing 100% on demand. As far as I can tell, he seems to be going about every 2.5-3 hours on average between sessions. Sometimes he will go only every 2 hours & other times he will go closer to 3.5 hours, it all just depends. He is still very distracted while nursing at times, but he seems to do better if I can isolate him from outside stimuli. Obviously, when we are out & about this can be hard to do so we just do the best we can in those scenarios. He still hasn't taken a bottle & since he has no reason to really, he likely won't again ever. We shall see. It just seems like a waste of my time & energy at this point to pump & try to force one on him.
Sleep: This is an area full of wins & losses, for sure. We started doing some daytime sleep training right around the 5 month mark & he seems to be doing pretty well with that. If he cries it's only for about 3-8 mins before he gives in & passes out. He's only had one rough night going down in the crib where he cried for a total of 30 mins. I don't like to leave him for longer then 5 mins at a time to cry so we definitely do a modified take on sleep training. Fortunately, it seems to be working for us thus far. We've also been putting H down before or at the same time as C so that they don't wake each other (since they are sharing a room) & that seems to be working for us as well (thankfully). Now, where we are losing....nighttime sleep. At this point C was definitely sleeping in longer stretches then H is. Granted, C was still nursing, but he was also taking bottles during the day while I was working & was also having the occasional bottle of formula since my supply was not the best. I suppose I can't really compare them too much since H is strictly breastfed on demand & those are definitely quite different situations. Regardless, H is still waking 3 times nightly to eat. I've tried just replacing the pacifier & comforting him, but he just gets more & more hysterical until I give in & feed him. We can't really sleep train in the middle of the night unless he's in our room since C will wake-up if H cries excessively. So, at this point we are pretty stuck & all I can really do is continue my current efforts for the time being. I just have to hope that eventually he will sleep longer periods on his own. Currently, he is going down for the night at around 6:30/7PM, up at 10 to nurse, then up again at 1:30/2AM, then again at about 4/4:30AM. He usually is up for the day around 7/7:30AM. We aren't really on a schedule as far as naps are concerned either since he nurses on-demand. I just put him down when he's tired & that seems to work just fine for us. He generally takes 2-3 naps daily one in the morning & usually one in the early afternoon. When he takes a third nap it is usually pretty short & is in the late afternoon. His morning nap is usually around an hour & his afternoon nap ranges between an hour to two hours (sometimes I feed him in the middle of this nap).

Elimination: He's getting better about going more regularly & I can only imagine how this is going to change in a few weeks when we start solids. I figure he'll go more often, but that his gas problems could go one of two ways. He'll either have worse issues with gas or they will lessen. We shall see since at the moment they still tend to be pretty bad some days. At the very least, at least he's not as stinky as he used to be. =)
Health: So far, so good. Hopefully, I won't jinx anything by saying that, but it's officially spring & we ALL made it through the winter without getting a cold/flu. I can only hope it stays that way moving more into spring/summer. All of us are a bit congested, but I think that it is more due to the dry air/allergies then anything else. H is still doing a fine job of getting the yuckies out of his nose all on his own so I haven't had to torture him with the nose bulb. Teething is still in full effect, but still no signs of any pearly whites just yet. C didn't get his first teeth until around 7 months so we shall see if H follows suit. Either way, the teething necklace has definitely been a god-send. Most of his fussiness now is attributed to either gas, hunger or sleepiness. He is still chewing everything & drooling like crazy though.
Social: He's warmed up a little bit to strangers, but not much & certainly not everyone. He has thus far had two bouts of separation anxiety & stranger danger. The first was certainly more severe then the second & was probably more a combination of things then just being separated from me. My BFF was here for a visit for a few days & he did not disappoint as far as his excitement was concerned in seeing her. I think it made her day since she was a little worried that he wouldn't remember her. He seems to do pretty well with people since we've been home as long as he can see me or I'm in the room. He's started to make a ton of new noises this last couple of weeks & some of them are pretty darn funny. His favorites are still his gooing & cooing noises, but he is definitely expanding his repertoire. He's still pretty serious overall when it comes to giggling, but he has started to laugh at things other then just while being tickled/entertained by someone. He finds the cow on his exersaucer to be one of the funniest things ever & he is also pretty entertained by our dog. He has definitely taken a lot more interest in him & stares at him intently ALL OF THE TIME. He also likes to "pet" him & does so pretty well for a 5 month old. Fortunately, he hasn't tried to put the dog's hair in his mouth or anything. He met his cousin, Alex, for the first time & he absolutely adores him! He is seriously the most social, happy kid ever when it comes to other kids/babies. He loves his brother (even when he's not the nicest to him) & loves seeing that baby in the mirror. He is definitely going to be a social butterfly like his daddy if this keeps up.
Physical: He is such a busy little bug & is constantly moving. He always wants to be reaching, grabbing, kicking, ect. The kid never sits still (even when he's sitting). He can now sit unsupported for short periods of time without falling over, but inevitably ends up toppling because he is constantly trying to reach for toys, his brother, the dog, my cup, my food...whatever. If he could just sit still & play with the toy in front of him/in his hand currently he'd be fine, but he always wants the next thing that catches his eye. He definitely prefers sitting or standing over doing tummy time, but he will do it for short periods of time still without much fuss. He usually rolls out of it sooner or later unless he is blocked into the position by a pillow. When he is on his tummy he tries to move his arms & legs, but hasn't really succeeded in moving anywhere just yet. His favorite activities are still his exersaucer & his johnny jumper (because he can stand on his own), but he will also sit in his swing or his Bumbo chair still on occasion. He usually likes these more if he is tired. He is still really big on grabbing anything & everything he can get his hands on, including my hair! Gah, Carter was never this much of a hair puller so it's been an adjustment. He will even grab my hair when it's up so that's not a big deterrent for him unfortunately. He loves being upside down & being tickled. His favorite games right now are peek-a-boo & "gotcha." He's really taken to splashing in the bath tub & I can only imagine how much worse it's going to be as time goes on.
Likes: His MAM teether/gum brush, nursing, bath time, being nakey, his lion lovey
Dislikes: Being dressed, pajamas, having to wait, being in his car seat, nap time
