So they say it's your birthday..

We had a very unfortunate happening in that C's swingset did not arrive on his birthday as originally scheduled. I seriously wanted to cry or scream when I was calling everyone under the sun on Tuesday to try to discover what happened, where it was & when it WILL actually arrive. I felt that by not ordering it sooner that I ruined C's birthday. =(

I realize now that he's only 3, he didn't even know it was coming (since it was going to be a surprise) & that he will still love it when it does arrive. I think he had a pretty good birthday anyway...

As I mentioned previously, we didn't do a party this year, but it doesn't mean that we didn't have a blast celebrating my little man for the WHOLE weekend while we were at home last weekend. =) We got in last on Wednesday night around 10:45PM & tried to get the kids to bed as quickly at possible. I think I finally ended up passing out around 12:30PM, so not terrible for such a long evening of travel. Thursday, the boys had their WCCs & after visiting a few old friends & co-workers at the clinic we headed back to my parent's house for a late lunch. H napped & C went off with Grandpa to get a bike helmet for his new bike. In the evening, I got to hang out with my BFF & shop for a short bit. H had a terrible time going down that night & ended up staying up until I went to bed at 10:30PM.

Friday we got C's haircut, shopped for a birthday present for cousin, Aubree & had dinner at the ILs house to celebrate C's birthday with them. My MIL made C some PB & chocolate cupcakes & he even got to blow out some candles. We let H have a cupcake too...

On Saturday, we went to visit my grandparents & to see my cousin, Courtney & her baby, Alexander. It was so much fun seeing my grandparents will all of their great-grand kids, but man was it hard to get a picture where the kiddos cooperated...

After visiting with my family, C & I dropped my mom & H off at her house & then headed to my cousin's daughter's birthday party. Aubree & Carter were born 3 days apart & they had her party at a park where she had her first birthday. It was Frozen themed & so, so adorable!

That night after K got home, we went out to dinner as a family to Spaghetti Factory to celebrate Mr. C a little bit more.

On Sunday, my mom & I took the boys to the county fair & it was the first time for both of them. C was actually tall enough to go on the kiddie rides & we thought he would be afraid, but he actually loved it. We were surprised because he had to go on a lot of the rides alone (since H is too little & we were too tall) & I am proud of him for being so brave. We also got to check out an old school toy exhibit & visit with all of the animals. Both boys were so good & we headed back to my parents after a few hours.

We headed home on Sunday evening & got back here around 10:45PM. It was a longer weekend home then usual, but it was definitely a successful one. I think C felt really loved & special & I am so pleased that we got to celebrate his birthday with our family & friends.

His actual birthday was on Wednesday, but I'll do a separate post about that. =)
