So we finally had our first OB appt yesterday with the actual doctor. I was really excited & really nervous at the same time. I am a major control freak & a worrier so I hoped that nothing was going wrong with LO. Mr. K took a half day from work so that he would be able to go to the appt. My appt was at 02:45PM & I was so anxious by the time we left the house at 2pm that I let Mr. K drive me.
We arrived at the office early thinking that I would have a lot of forms to fill out, but I guess that I already took care of it all at the Nurse Visit. My doctor's assistant weighed me (154lbs--less then the Nurse appt. wt), had me give a UA sample, took my blood pressure (128/70 high for me! I was REALLY nervous) & then left the room. Mr. K & I talked while we waited for my OB (who must have been running behind) for about 15-20mins. When my doc came in we talked about how I was feeling & then went over my lab work from the Nurse Visit. Negative for all the normal screening tests, A+ blood type & thus far all of my genetic screening tests came back negative/normal as well. We are still waiting for one final result to come back & my doctor said she should have it back soon. She quickly went over my history & then surprised me with "no pap today"! I was thrilled for both myself & Mr. K. I just had a pap in September as well as the GC/Chlamydia testing that they routinely do for your prenatal work-up.
Then she said "So let's just do the fun stuff & go see & listen to baby." I was soo excited because I wasn't sure whether we would even get to hear the HB since I was just shy of 10wk (My OB doesn't usually try to hear the HB until 11wks). So not only did Mr. K get to see our LO for the first time, but we also got to hear it's beautiful HB. It was loud, clear & strong at 160bpm. Baby was measuring at 10w3d & so my "official" due date is actually July 30. It was soo amazing to get to see our LO again. It looks a lot more like a baby now then it did at my 6wk US. It kept moving it's little limbs around as well as bouncing it's adorable little body. Needless to say, I am in love. Here's the latest US pic from yesterday:
I see my OB again on February 7th & have an appt on Jan. 17th for my NT scan with the Maternal Fetal Specialist. I can't believe that I get to see LO again in less then 2wks. I can't wait to see how much s/he has grown.
