12/14 First Nurse Visit

At exactly 7wks I had my first visit with my OB's nurse. It was actually a very informative appt. Again, Mr, K had to work & so I went it alone. When I checked in, I had to fill out a 5 page questionnaire. It was crazy, but I guess important info. The nurse called me back & we went over my questionnaire question by question. I also got a pamphlet for 10-14wk info., a binder full of info. on my delivery hospital of choice, a nifty little pregnancy planner & lots of info. on my OB's practice. I got to ask her all of my questions & was informed about all of the optional screening tests. I agreed to all of the screenings & that meant a trip to the lab for not only the normal pregnancy screening tests that my OB performs, but for the optional genetic screenings. Before heading to the lab I finally gave in & got my flu shot.

At the lab, I had 8 vials of blood taken. I could not believe that I didn't pass out. I hadn't eaten much that day due to m/s & wasn't feeling super great overall. I also had to give a UA sample in the lab bathroom. I took my rings off while washing my hands since it was a clean catch and completely left them there.

I didn't realize that my rings were missing until I was already on the freeway & on the phone with Mr. K. I literally gasped so loud, said "OMG" and he freaked out thinking something major was wrong. I told him that I had left my rings in the lab bathroom & he was actually very, very sweet about it. He told me that if they were gone that we would just get me new ones. I knew that he secretly had to be furious with me, but he hid it so well. I immediately hung up with him & called the clinic. I got transferred to the lab & explained to the lady at the front desk what had happened. She went to check & came back to tell me that she had my rings! Thank god no one had used that restroom after me. I was sooooo relieved.

Can I blame it on pregnancy brain?
