On Monday we went for my appt with the MFM specialist to have the NT scan performed. Fortunately, Mr. K was off work for MLK day (yeah, totally unfair, I know!!) and was able to go without taking sick leave. The appt. took about 30 mins & of course there was MORE paperwork to be filled out. I will be happy when the appts. don't require filling out forms anymore. LOL
It is ridiculous how much the LO has grown in just two weeks! It actually looks like a real baby in there now with adorable little facial features & all. I am already head over heels in love. Here is the best pic (IMO) from the NT scan:
Baby was measuring right on track with my due date of July 30 at 12w2d! The HR was 151 & the doctor said that everything looked great as far as she could tell. She had quite a tough time getting baby to cooperate as far as getting measurements, as it was moving around A LOT! At one point the baby was standing on it's head. I feel like I am going to have one active LO when we finally get to meet him/her. The baby was literally doing acrobatics in there. =)
On the way out we scheduled the appt for our anatomy scan which is going to be at 18w2d on Feb. 28. I can not believe how soon that seems! I am so excited to find out if we are having a little girl or a little boy. I bought a baby name book & am having such a good time skimming through all the names. I can't wait to be able to start shopping & decorating for the baby!
In the mean time, Mr. K & I have a lot of plans. We have already started saving & paying off debts, but we plan to step that up into high gear over the next 6 months. We would really like to be able to buy a new (or new to us) car when the LO comes. As it is right now, we only have one "family" car & will desperately be in need of a second one. Also, we need to finish tying up all those loose ends & home projects that we have been putting off for so long because we realize that once they baby comes the time & effort required to finish many of these projects will be non-existent. This is going to be an awesome 2011 and I can't wait to see what other surprises, blessings & joys it brings to our little family!
