Symptoms Series Part 1

Awww 2nd Trimester....it's a breeze right? You LOVE it right? So much easier & more relaxing then the 1st Trimester. For most of us, there is no longer the daily all-day hangover feeling of having been at a serious kegger the night before. Not only that, but our energy is renewed! We feel like we can once again take on the world or at least function as a human being again right?

Sure, 2nd trimester is great. But let's talk about the symptoms. Symptoms that are not as commonly mentioned by mother's-to-be. Maybe these symptoms aren't as talked about due to embarassment or maybe it's because they just aren't as debilitating or bothersome as the nausea/vomting/fatigue of 1st Trimester. In my mind though, it doesn't make them any less significant.

Warning: I'm gonna speak candidly here for a minute, so if you get squeamish or embarrass easily it may be best to stop reading now.

I'm gonna start with discharge. And by discharge I do NOT just mean that lovely mucus that has decided to constantly take over my nose day in & day out. Not only making it impossible to go the morning without blowing my nose at least 2-3 times, but also causes insane fits of sneezing. Fortunately for me at least, I have not had the wonder of having a bloody nose yet, but it does happen. =P Yuck!

By discharge, I ALSO am referring to the constant leakage happening downstairs. One bonus to being pregnant is that you (in theory) do not have to deal with having a menstrual cycle for the next 10 months! Great, you think, goodbye are the tampons & pads! But not so fast my dear.....unless you like having soiled undergarments at ANY moment you may not want to throw out those pads JUST yet. And this is not just the normal CM that we all know & love. This is like a snail slime of mucus that can present itself at any time. It's disgusting, especially if you
are not prepared for it. So it is my advice & words of wisdom to let you know that panty-liners are a girl's best friend during pregnancy. And from what I hear, the discharge of mucus only increases over time. Oh boy, something to look forward to. lol =)
