Music to my Ears

"You will have very little to no out of pocket costs. Wow, you really have GREAT insurance. Don't change a thing, at least not before that baby comes."

Hallelujah!!

Seriously, after the crapp-tastic phone conversation I had yesterday with a scheduler I was a bit annoyed to hear a message on my phone today from the Patient Account Rep. Blargh!

Up until January of this year, I was doubly insured. It was great for when we had Carter because he pretty much cost us $0 (other then the uncovered genetic testing & NT scan), but not so great on my paycheck. I was paying around $100 every 2 weeks just to insure myself with sub-par insurance. K's insurance costs us far less & covers WAY more. Anyway, since I dropped MY employer's insurance (in an attempt to save us some money--they pay me to NOT use their insurance) I was a little bit worried about what the costs were going to look like for us this time around. I was almost to the point of kicking myself for letting go of my insurace & getting ready to HOARD ALL THE MONIES in order to afford this kiddo growing in my ute. I'm glad to hear that this is at least one aspect of this pregnancy that won't be a major worry (oh, but there are others!).

Also, I don't think I mentioned this, but last Tuesday C & I went on an EPIC hunt for a shirt that says "Big Brother" or "Big Bro" on it. We literally went to Target, Fred Meyer, JC Penney, Macy's, Old Navy, Children's Place, Walmart & Gymboree with no freaking luck. =( I seriously thought I was going to have to order a shirt online until I was randomly searching for gender neutral stuff for baby today at work & found this one while perusing Kohl's website. Since I literally work right next door to a Kohl's I stopped in on my lunch today & picked one up! You seriously have no idea how excited I am to not have to order a shirt off of Etsy (too expensive & bad past experiences) so thank you, Kohl's for my less then $7 shirt!! =) Why I didn't think to check there, I have no idea, but I am just glad that I found it by dumb-luck. I'm already thinking about reveals. =)

Oh...and on a not so exciting note. I called yesterday to schedule my initial OB appt & the stupid scheduler REFUSED to schedule me for an appt & would only schedule me a nurse visit. Yeah, the ONLY available nurse visit before next month (according to her) is Tuesday the freaking 19th at 8:30AM. Uh..yeah...that should be fun with my 18 month old & a 50 page questionnaire. Not to mention she made me give her my insurance information AGAIN. She already freaking had it in the computer (which I told her several times). Then she says "Yeah they will call you to make your doctor's appt or just schedule you one at your nurse visit." Uh...no. That is YOUR job. Now, I probably won't end up seeing my doctor until I'm like 14 weeks because she books out so freaking far & I already looked at her schedule & she's out the WHOLE last week in March. I am not a happy camper about this...not one bit. Trust me, I plan to let the nurse in on my distaste come next Tuesday. There isn't really much I can do about it at this point short of stopping into my OB's office & trying to making an appt at the front desk, but we will see what happens. Regardless, one thing is for sure...I am making all future appts at the freaking desk. I don't want to deal with that lady ever again if I can help it. Just RUDE.
