Polar Express

Today we took the boys on a day trip up to Hood River to take a ride on the Polar Express train. My best friend & her SO came along as well & we had a great time!! Carter absolutely loved being on a REAL train & kept shouting "All Aboard!!" before the train took off to the "North Pole."

 The people on the train made it a really fun experience for all of the kids & Carter even got his own Golden ticket to ride as well as a silver jingle bell from Santa.

We also all got some hot chocolate & cookies to enjoy during the ride. They played music from the movie & read the story from the book during our journey. Besides Santa there was also a conductor character, chef characters & even a hobo character. Carter just ate it all up!

Holden did really well during the ride & was either napping or cooing the whole time. I did feed him on the train as the excursion was an hour & a half total & he hadn't eaten since we arrived in Hood River at ten. It didn't end up being a huge deal though.

We tried to get some pictures of the four of us together, but they didn't turn out so great. This was the best one we were able to get as Carter was just not wanting to really look at the camera...at all.

It was also HOT HOT HOT on the train & it just kept getting hotter. I felt bad for Holden as he's a little heater & obviously we couldn't strip him since he was only in jammies to begin with.

After the train ride, we all went out to a nice lunch together & again both of the boys did really well. Holden slept the majority of our lunch & Carter sat in a high chair nicely. We headed home after lunch & after I fed Holden again. Both boys slept on the way home so that was marvelous since it's about an hour & a half drive.
