Wins & Losses

Oh the days when holiday weekends were filled with fun....

This is the LAST weekend until I am on maternity leave that Mr. K & I had together. Well, I obviously had to take full advantage of that fact & I have to say that I am officially beat! I feel like I ran a marathon this weekend. It was worth it because we got a TON of stuff crossed off our to-do list, but sheesh. I never knew I could be this physically exhausted. Thank goodness I have this last day off work to recover a little bit. =)

On Friday, I had to work, but Mr. K was off & our poor little puppy finally got his sutures & staples out from his surgery! Everything looks great & he is finally recovered. I could not be more happy that he no longer has to wear the cone of shame or a doggy diaper to keep him from ripping them out. Not to mention, I know that people say neutering will not really change a dog's behavior too much, but Jack is a million times more well behaved now! I am not going to complain even if this IS supposedly abnormal.

On Saturday, we took care of the exterior of the Altima & got it washed up all nice & shiny! Then we went down to the gym & cancelled our membership. We decided to do it now because we will still be able to access the gym until August 19 & after that Carter will DEFINITELY be here so we may be rethinking where we start a new membership. Not to mention, it's another extra $65 a month in our pockets that we can definitely use! After that we went to Les Schwab to get a quote on tires & ended up leaving with new tires put on the Altima. lol Yeah, we are bad about window shopping. Oh well, we needed to get them anyways before Carter arrives so one less thing to worry about later I guess. After that we went to our friend's house for a BBQ. They just recently found out that they are expecting so they are VERY EXCITED & wanted to talk to us about the whole experience. It was a lot of fun. Can't wait to get together with them again soon.

On Sunday, we took the Altima in to have the interior detailed & then we dropped some stuff off at Value Village for donation. Unfortunately, we had to go buy a new pack & play after that. =( The one that we had given to us that was supposedly new turned out not only to be VERY used & dirty, but also was broken. We weren't exactly thrilled to find that out this late in the game, but better then when trying to put the baby in it, I guess. Fortunately, we found a great deal on one at Burlington Coat Factory (did I ever mention how much I love this store?!! <3) that has a lot more features I actually wanted then the one we were gifted. After that, we headed to Home Depot to pick up a few more items for our deck project & then to the ILs house to borrow their palm sander. After coming home & clearing off/sanding the deck we had to head back into town to pick up the Altima. I must say that they did a GREAT job with the detailing! It looks like a brand new car again. Now all we have left to do is get a new windshield installed & she will be good as new! We attempted to get quotes, but all of the glass replacement places were closed over the weekend. I am hoping that this is something Mr. K can take care of next weekend while I am working. We'll see.

On Monday, we got our grocery shopping done, our mailing done at the post office & picked up a few more things at Home Depot. After that we came home & stained the whole back deck. Unfortunately, it's not drying quite as quickly as I hoped it might. =( Hence, I have a BBQ in my living room. Which doesn't make for a very convenient time when you are having someone come to clean your house.Today I had the whole house cleaned & I know it was dirty, but I really do feel like they half-assed it a bit. =( I'm kind of disappointed because I feel like I probably could have done a better job on some of the cleaning myself. Oh well, it is what it is I guess. Hopefully, next time it will go a bit better. I wish I was someone who loved cleaning, but I loathe it & obviously that part of nesting has NOT kicked in.

Today, the last of the baby stuff got delivered from Target finally! We now have our Graco Snugrider snap-in stroller, high chair, play mat & Itzabeen timer. I feel like at this point we are more or less ready for him to arrive anytime. I just hope he stays put a little bit longer. 25 days till D-day! =)
