9 Months

Oh my precious boy, you are three quarters of a year old today!

I CANNOT believe it. You will be a year old in 3 months. Where has this year gone little boy? You may no longer be little, but you will always be your momma's baby.

You have become even more of a wild man this month! You've learned to clap & wave recently & you just love to wave your hands around wildly when excited. We like to refer to this as your "happy dance."

Your other favorite activity is practicing standing up. You are pretty cautious still & will only pull up on things that you are SURE will hold you or that you think are really worth standing up for. One thing you will always pull up on is your Momma. You love when we hold your hands & "walk" you around. It's only a matter of time before you're cruising on your own. You stood by yourself for the first time just two days ago while Momma was standing you up. You let go....stood for about 2 seconds & then promptly plopped down on your butt. You were so proud of yourself!

You've become even more opinionated this month as well. You're little personality is really taking shape & we are starting to see just how stubborn & bull-headed you can really be (just like you're Momma). We're starting to see the beginning of what is going to turn into an AMAZING temper tantrum as you reach toddlerhood. Fortunately for us, it doesn't seem to be as bad as some other mommas have described & you are easily redirected when you aren't supposed to have something.  You've started eating majority finger foods/table foods & you definitely will let us know when you DON'T want something. You are also very vocal about when you DO want something. When it comes to food, if you want it, you want it NOW. Your favorites these days are yogurt, puffs (any kind), "cookies" ie. graham crackers & cheddar cheese. These are pretty much the only foods that you never refuse.

When it comes to nursing, you have to be really hungry before you'll actually eat & so Momma has really been letting you dictate your feeding schedule lately. You have a new way of letting me know that you want milk lately & it basically means that you either crawl over to me or climb up on me to "bite" me. If I'm already holding you, then you'll "bite" (gub/suck) on my shoulder. You also definitely know the word "milk." You get very excited when anyone mentions it, but especially Momma.

You had your first trip out of town this last month & got to go in the swimming pool for the first time. You absolutely loved it! We can't wait to get you into the pool more this summer. You are such a little water baby. Any running water will do & is the best in your eyes! You love having your hands washed.

You're still working on your top two teeth & we are still hoping they come through soon! Your teething symptoms have died down a little bit since we got you the Amber teething necklace from Inspired by Finn thankfully, but your sleep (and Momma's) is still suffering. Hoping we can get back to some normalcy soon. I hate seeing you in pain. =(

Your favorite toys of the moment are your "Scouty" dog & Sophie the giraffe. You also love playing with anything that you can roll or spin or push. You still like your pacifier, but we are mostly only using it while in the car for long drives or during bedtime. I see it slowly making it's way out of the picture very soon.

On top of all that, you are continuing to grow like a little weed! I can't believe how hard it is for you to find a comfortable position in my lap anymore or how heavy you are to carry around for long periods of time. Even though sometimes I miss my little baby that you once were, I want you to know that I really love where we're at. You are the most fun, loving, happy little boy in the world. You bring a smile to everyone you meet & have the best sense of humor. I am so lucky to call myself your Momma. You continue to amaze me more & more every day & I look forward to seeing what the next month & beyond has to bring! I love you little boy.

Love,

Your Momma
