In Other News:

Sleep: It was pretty crappy there for a while. Since C is STILL working on his top front teeth he was waking multiple times at night for a couple weeks. =( Fortunately, this last week has been great & he has gone back to STTN & giving his momma a break. =) And by STTN, I mean going 11-12 hours without waking. Yay!! I don't expect it to last, but I'll take every full night of sleep I can get. How well & easily he goes down seems to vary from night to night & nap to nap. Sometimes he falls right to sleep with no fuss & other times it is a big crying, screaming production. *sigh* I'm sure this will become consistent one day. C is still taking two naps a day on average. Usually one in the late AM & then one in the late afternoon. They usually average between 1-3 hours in length with his AM nap usually being the shorter one. He is still in bed most nights by 8/8:30PM.

Nursing: Everything is still going well in this dept! Just trucking along. =) He definitely is more distracted during eating then he used to be & it can be a challenge to get him to get a good "meal" in during the day, but we've learned ways around his being antsy. I definitely see pushing on to a year+ at this point in time. He can definitely identify the word "milk" now & get VERY excited when anyone mentions it to him. He has been nursing anywhere from every 3-5 hours during the daytime. He also continues to take a 5oz bottle while momma is working.

Solids: C loves feeding himself & he seems to get more & more skilled at it by the day. I am half tempted to start giving him a spoon so he can try feeding himself with that a little bit more. He has his pincher grasp down & the only things he really has trouble picking up anymore are slippery foods (ex: fruit pieces). His favorite foods these past weeks have been cheese, graham crackers, yogurt, beans & chicken. His favorite snack is definitely the cheese flavored puffs. Otherwise, the kid will eat pretty much anything we put in front of him. He loves sour pickles, onion, olives & even spicy stuff! I can only hope he will be this willing to try things in the future. For now, he's definitely an adventurous eater like his daddy.

Play: C's favorite toys these days are any that have buttons to push or play music. His must have of the moment is his "Scouty" dog, probably because it incorporates his name into songs & phrases, but who wouldn't love that? He is also really into playing with toy balls because he can chase them around the floor & crawl after them. Any toy that he can use to pull up to standing is great in his opinion since he loves practicing his skills.
