Carter: Week 42

Stats:

Weight: Approx. 19lbs.

Length: 28.5ish inches approx.

Clothing: (9-)12 months & some 6-12 month. Although, a lot of them are still quite big on him. Size 3 shoes.

Diapers: Size 3

Milestones:

-First time trying fish. It was halibut & he loved it!
-First time pointing to indicate he wants something.
-Learned to wave with purpose.
-First time trying pancakes (plain) & whole eggs. Yum! No reaction, thank goodness.
-Learned to drink from a straw.
-Teeth number 3&4 (top front) finally popped through
-First time having tuna fish. Again, thought it was great!

In Other News:

Sleep: Surprisingly, C is still STTN. That's about where his good sleep habits end. I feel like it's 100% my fault for him not being able to put himself to sleep anymore. I have been letting him get overly tired during the day, rocking/nursing him to sleep & just simply not following through with CIO at all. =( Yep, I've trained my kid that if he cries Momma will come get him. We're gonna have to work on it before he gets out of control. I've been "babying" him lately because of his teeth, but now that they are through I will have to start being a bit tougher.

Nursing: No change! Everything is still all smooth sailing on this front. Nursing 4-5 times daily & taking 4 bottles on average while Momma is at work during her 12s.

Solids: He's getting a little bit more picky, especially with snack type food. He will now only eat CERTAIN types of puffs. *Sigh* We'll keep trying with some of them because I don't want to waste food, even if it is just baby food. Other then that things are going well. He is pretty much willing to try anything we put in front of him & his self feeding skills are AMAZING! He is a pro at the pincher grasp. He has also learned to drink from a straw this week! K tried it with him at a restaurant the other night & he just sucked the water right up with no trouble. Straw sippy cups are in our near future.

Play: Still a crazy man! Crawling, standing & starting to cruise a tiny bit have been the big fun this week. Stair climbing fortunately is not too big of a draw, but he has done it a few times. Gotta get that gate up! He still loves bath time more then any other activity & will constantly try to get into the tub at other times of the day. His favorite things to play with this week are anything that is NOT a toy & his books. He has also started to play "pretend sleeping" where he will lay his head down & look at you. And then Momma says "Sleepy time" & then I say "Wake-up time!" And he pops his head back up & laughs like a maniac. He is also loving anything that involves hand clapping or movements, including itsy bitsy spider & patty cake. He also loves giving "high fives" & waving to anyone & everyone. We've started calling him Kevin Bacon this week a la Footloose as he has been doing this cute little scrunched up face & then "dances." It's too funny & I will have to post the video one of these days.
