Dear Baby (13 week letter)

Hey kiddo!

We've made it another week & reached a very important milestone for the both of us--the second trimester!! Can you believe that we are already a 1/3 of the way through your journey on the inside? You are now somewhere in-between the size of a peach & lemon since we are almost to week 14 at this point. Your vocal cords are now forming (Oi, but promise not to use them too much when you make your grand appearance--would ya?) as well as your fingerprints! Seriously, how cool is that?!

I thought you were starting to finally lay off your momma when it came to the nausea thing, but we've been feeling pretty icky the last two nights in a row. =( I've also had the joy of heartburn the last couple of days & even had to take 4 Tums to tame it on Tuesday night. I hope this means that you will have lots of hair like your brother, especially if I have to suffer through this for the next 26ish weeks or so. Fortunately, I haven't had too much back pain thus far (like I had with your brother) & I will thank you for giving me a break in that dept. I'm hoping I didn't just jinx myself on that one...

Also kiddo, I've been looking into elective ultrasounds & wondering if it is worth it to find out about whether you are a little sister or a little brother 2.5 weeks earlier. I just don't know if I can wait until our Anatomy scan on May 21! It seems so far away still at just over 6 weeks from now. Besides the fact that I feel so deprived only getting to see your sweet face twice in the span of *possibly* 40+ weeks. I'm thinking I may ask for this to be my Mother's Day gift this year because I can't imagine a better way to spend OUR first Mother's Day together. We shall see if your momma is able to be more patient or not. =)

Other then that kiddo, you've definitely stolen my immunity this week & I would very much appreciate it back. I am glad you are healthy & all in there & very much wish you to stay that way, but this cold your momma has is getting old. I hope that we can be rid of it soon because I really miss being healthy too! We've continued to try to listen for your heartbeat with the doppler, but either it sucks or you really are a little bugger. I hear you moving around in there CONSTANTLY! At this point, I am starting to wonder if you are ever still or sleeping. I really hope this isn't an indication of things to come.

Other then that little one, not much is going on at the moment, but I am definitely looking forward to all the exciting milestones to come!

Until next week little one...

Love Always,

Momma
