Friday: I hung out C with in the morning while daddy worked & picked grandma K up from the airport. Around 1pm I left C with K & then headed out to the Expo Center for my third JBF sale. I was excited to get to go peruse all of the goods by myself for the first time, but I was sadly disappointed in the sale. Not only was it a waste of money (for parking)& gas (the longish drive there & back), but it was also a total waste of my time because I spent an hour at the sale & left with absolutely nothing. =( This was definitely a first as the past JBF sales I had been too were wonderful. I had been hoping to pick up some shorts & other summer attire for C, but there was just nothing to speak of this time around. The clothes were beyond worn, as were the shoes. It just seemed that this sale was sub par compared to the last few. Hopefully, the next one come fall will have a better selection. After returning home from the sale, K left again to head back to the shop & I puttered around the house waiting for C to wake up from his nap. I finally had to wake him up at 5:30PM since he had been asleep since about 1:30PM (according to K) & we had to leave to meet my BFF for dinner. I thought that maybe C was getting sick, but nothing so far so I guess he was just really tired. We met my BFF at her place & then headed to Spaghetti Factory for dinner. C ate everything in sight including his entire little dish of ice cream. After dinner we hit up a few stores in search of some summer clothes for C, but were unsuccessful. =( It was getting late after the failed shopping so we dropped my BFF & headed home. C & I both more or less went to bed as soon as we got home.
Saturday: We got up fairly early because we had to head out to Shurway to pick-up some more Timbertech decking. Our project for this weekend was to tackle our small downstairs deck. We added onto the deck last summer, but we never replaced the original decking from the previous owners. Mostly Saturday was just tear down of the previous deck & fortunately only the top portion of decking needed to be replaced, but it still cost us a pretty penny. Oi! After running a few more errands & then working on the deck during the afternoon while C napped, K & I dropped C off with his grandma K. K & I headed out to dinner at McMenamin's on the river & it was so nice having dinner just the two of us. It would have been better if we had sat inside & if they had remembered to put in for our appetizer, but it was a great meal none-the-less. Afterward, we headed to a popular new ice cream parlor that has unique flavors for dessert. We looked around for parking for a bit & then headed to the shop. We had to wait in line for 45 minutes to get ice cream people!! lol This is how popular the place is on weekend evenings, but it was well worth the wait. We taste tested about 5 flavors including pear with blue cheese, cayenne pepper with banana & walnut, mint chocolate chip with lemon, coffee with bourbon & cinnamon with snickerdoodle. Next time we will definitely try some more like the strawberry with black pepper & honey. We even considered getting a pint of it to take home, but decided we'd just eat it straight away so it probably wasn't the best idea. After ice cream, we picked up C & headed home. We all went straight to bed after that.
Sunday: Thankfully, C let us all sleep in until about 8:45AM. K made us all some breakfast while I made a Starbucks run for some coffee. C & I left the house around 10AM to head to my grandparent's house for a "family meeting" involving the whole my grandparents moving & my parents buying their house situation. All I want to say about that is....what a f**cking mess! After visiting with the family for a while C & I headed home around 1PM. C went down for a nap while K & I worked on the deck some more. We got about halfway done due to some unforeseeable complications & extra work required to fix them. After woke up around 3, he ate a snack & then went swimming in his little pool for a bit. After that we headed to the store to pick-up some stuff for dinner & came home to make it. After dinner C took a bath & we all played for a bit before he went to bed. K & I more or less read/got on our computers until we passed out too!
