Halloween was a ton of fun this year!! I love having two kids to dress up & celebrate with. =) I didn't really put Holden in a costume since he's still in NB clothes, but I did get him a little Halloween outfit & some monster jammies.
This is the first year that we have really gotten to enjoy ourselves since C was born. Two years ago on Halloween C was almost 3 months old, but obviously not old enough to take trick-or-treating. We stayed home & passed out candy to the handful of trick-or-treaters that we got at our old house. I got to dress him up & take pictures, but it wasn't really a family affair since K had to work OT.
Last year on Halloween, I had to work. =( Carter was just over a year old & had JUST learned to walk so we probably wouldn't have gone out again. He did visit my grandparents & a few neighbors of theirs, but I didn't get to dress him up or take pictures myself since I wasn't home.
This year, Holden had his newborn photo shoot at 10AM. My mom came with me since I had to take C along as well. I wanted a few pictures with both boys & the shoot was going to take about 2 hours. I'll talk more about this in the picture reveal post though. =)
After K got home from work & we ate dinner (and fed Holden) we headed out. Carter was an elephant this year because I couldn't find any of the other costumes I wanted in his size & because it was on clearance at Costco. Yep. =) I was worried that he may not want to wear the hood of his costume, but we showed him what he looked like in the mirror & he was so impressed by him self that he kept it on the WHOLE time.

It was about 6PM by the time we got out of the house & we started down our cul-de-sac first. Carter walked & carried him pumpkin bucket holding on to one of our hands the whole time & I put Holden in the baby carrier. C did great! He didn't say trick-or-treat at every house, but he did say thank you to most people. Even though we had practiced, he didn't quite get the concept & tried to go into a few people's houses or open the door for them. It was pretty funny & fortunately all of the people just thought he was cute so they didn't care. We only went around our neighborhood & down the block a little way before C got too tired & asked K to carry him. He also complained that his bucket was getting too heavy. We stayed out for about 45 mins total & it was the perfect amount of time. We got home before 7PM. And amazingly, Holden slept in the carrier the whole time!

Not to mention, C made out the like a bandit!! He got two full size candy bars as well as a WHOLE bag of Hersey's fun size bars...yep. Generous folks this year! The only problem has been having to tell him no to eating all of his candy. He's getting two pieces a day & it's killing him. I've already had to pick out a few pieces that aren't two year old appropriate (gum, jolly ranchers, jaw breakers, ect.), but otherwise it's all been a very good experience.
