All I want for Christmas is You

So, now that Thanksgiving has come & gone & we are officially moving into December before the weekend is out let's talk about Christmas!! Every year, I try to go easy on the gift giving, but it NEVER works out. I am definitely someone who enjoys giving gifts more then I like receiving them. It's just so fun to watch the joy on people's faces when they open a gift from you, know what I mean?!

This year being as I am no longer working & we are living on half of our previous income I can't exactly go buck wild. A lot of people I know go by the 4 gift rule (I'm sure you've all heard of it): something you want, something you need, something you wear & something you read. I do like the concept of this rule (especially this year), but I know I will never be able to stick to one thing per category. However, I am going to try to dial it down a bit this year because I don't want our boys to grow up thinking that Christmas is only about getting presents. So here's where I'm at so far...

Holden:

Want:

Well, he's only going to be almost 2.5 months at Christmas so he doesn't really WANT anything, but here's what momma picked out for him.

Babylegs Flying High Pattern
I nabbed these puppies on BabySteals with a Black Friday deal so they were only $1.99. Score!!

Black Friday Sale Gray Chevron and Yellow Polka Dot Stuffed Elephant
Etsy Get it Here
This is honestly the perfect stuffed animal for H. I saw it while just randomly browsing Etsy & I knew I he had to have it. It matches the color scheme for his future nursery & the elephant was his given "mascot" by my extended family. It was also on a Black Friday special. =)

Need:
RaZBaby Blackberry Teether

Skip Hop Zoo Pack

And a need that is kind of for Holdy & kind of for Momma:

Chewbeads Jane Necklace
Chewbeads Jane Necklace Get It Here
I got all 3 of these gems from Cotton Babies (who was also having a Black Friday sale) & although he won't need any of these things for a few more months still, they will definitely come in handy.

Wear:

Colorblock cable knit one-piece
Baby Gap Here

Intarsia owl sweater one-piece
Baby Gap Here
I got his clothes during Gap's 60% off sale & used both a 20% off total purchase coupon along with $25 in rewards that I had. I got both H & C's stuff for under $60 total.

Read:

Now, I realize the photo book can't be read, but Carter loved to look at pictures as a baby, but we had a hard time keeping him from destroying the pictures in the process. A friend of ours had this for  their daughter & I loved it! I finally found one for Holden so he can enjoy looking at photos too.

, Multi Color, hi-res
Carter's Here
Indestructible Books Two-pack Here
The photo book was bought at Carter's using my $20 in rewards (along with some slippers) & the books I got on another steal for BabySteals at while back for $5.

Carter:
He has surprisingly been the more difficult of the two to shop for! He doesn't really NEED anything per say so this was a little harder for me.

Want:
LeapPad 2 Ultra Here
I got this for C along with a Gel case for it. I *thought* it was he deal on Cartwheel for Target & that I would get 50% off. Unfortunately, I stupidly got this confused with the LeapPad Explorer. Oh well, it was still on sale & since I couldn't find an Explorer at any Target that day I didn't want to take back what I did have since it was on sale. C is obsessed with our phones, my Nook & my dad's Kindle so I thought it was time for him to have his own tablet where we can control what he has access to a bit more.

Fair Isle sweater
Gap Kids Here
Wear:

Colorblock shawl pullover

Again, scored along with H's stuff from Gap during the 60% off sale.

As you can see, I still need to find some needs & some reads for C. Both will be difficult in their own right. C doesn't really NEED much of anything & picking just one or two books is going to be so hard for me since I know there are so many that he would love. Likely, we will end up with one Thomas book & another about something else. I'll update when I find em! =)
