Month 1: Must-haves

I know everyone has their own opinions on the must-have baby items (from month to month) & every baby is different (I have DEFINITELY learned that), but I thought I'd like to look back on this for a reference in the future. So here it is, my month one baby love list in no specific order.

1.) A baby carrier! I had several with Carter (none of which I loved) & I didn't wear him very often as he wasn't a huge fan of being worn. Holden is completely different & loves to be in the carrier. I prefer a carrier that can be worn from birth & beyond. I bought the Hot Slings sling when it was on baby steals & although I am not in love with it, it works & is fairly easy. Not to mention, Holden loves to be in it so I can't complain. I would love to try out some other slings, but just don't have the disposable income. Regardless, a sling is a must in our house, especially with two kiddos to care for. It has been a real life saver while out shopping since Holden hates the car seat.



2.) MAM Pacifiers. Holden is not a big fan of the pacifier as a whole. I bought 2 packs of several brands of pacifiers before Holden was born & tried them all in the first few weeks of his birth. He refused every.single.one. I finally bought some MAMs as this was one of the only brands we had yet to try. Well, it is the ONLY pacifier that Holden will take. Also, a total life saver for those 3AM diaper changes when I can't have a crying baby waking up his big brother.

3.) Lansinoh Nursing Pads. If you are nursing, these are a MUST. I have tried all of the other brands of nursing pads & these are definitely my favorite. They are comfortable, they are absorbent & they stay put. I used them with Carter for a long time into our nursing journey so why not stick with what I know works? Exactly.


4.) Fisher Price Rock n' Play. We are working with very limited space so this thing is a total life-saver. It lightweight, folds up & can be easily moved from room to room. Not to mention, it keeps baby in a semi-upright position while sleeping. Holden loves to nap in the Rock n' Play. I definitely prefer it to the pack n' plays we have.





5.) Boppy Pillow. I've had this since Carter & I LOVE it. It is not only a nursing mother's staple, but also is great for play-time propping & tummy time. Not to mention helping baby to sit down the road. All of the adorable washable covers don't hurt either. =)
