Stats:Weight: 8.8 pounds (this is with me standing on our scale holding him so who knows exactly what it translates to. =) )
Length: Unknown (I'll measure him at 1 month)
Diapers: Newborn during the day (until we run out of the current open pack), Size 1s at night due to frequent pee leaks in the NBs. Wore his last size NB diaper on Sunday. =) I can't believe how fast my baby is growing.
Clothing: Newborn & 0-3 months. He wore his first 0-3 outfit (from Old Navy) the day before Halloween since it was his "festive holiday outfit." It was still a tad big on him, but fortunately ON stuff tends to run small & unfortunately they don't carry NB sizes on this type of stuff.
Milestones:
10/30: First time wearing a 0-3 month sized outfit. First time wearing a size one diaper. First time meeting my cousin, Courtney & uncle, Eric. First time peeing on Mommy. =P Lost most of his umbilical stump.
10/31: Newborn pictures! First holiday, Halloween. First time peeing & pooping on Daddy (he always gets the worst of it!)
11/03-11/04: Growth spurt. It definitely wasn't as bad as C's three week growth spurt, thankfully, but little man was definitely a grumpy pants.
11/05: First smile. =) They weren't big cheeky ones, but I'll take the little ones any day. Can't wait till he is smiling more consistently.
Nursing: He is still nursing in quick, short, frequent bursts. Again, I don't keep track of how often he nurses since I am nursing on demand, but it's safe to say that unless he is down for a long nap that it is more often then every 2 hours. At this point, he still does like to be nursed to sleep & for comfort so obviously that is a contributing factor as well. I don't mind still at this age since he so young we will just continue what we are doing for the being. As long as he continues growing & gaining weight that's my only concern at this point.
Sleep: I'd love to say that things have changed this week in the sleep dept, but they really haven't. A four hour stretch is a rarity for sure! I'm lucky if I get a 3 hour stretch most nights. The typical night with Holden has about 4-5 wake-ups. He usually goes down for the night between 8:30-9:30PM & will typically wake-up around 11:30PM for the first time. His sleep intervals only get shorter from there ranging from 2 hours to 1 hour. I sure hope he sleeps a little bit longer soon because all of this sporadic sleep is really hard on me. The only saving grace in the matter is that he does go back to sleep very quickly during all wake-ups with the exception of his early morning one. We are usually only awake during the night for maybe 20 mins at a time, that includes diaper changes & eating on both sides. I usually feed him on the right side in the glider, burp him, change his diaper & then get back in bed to feed him on the left side. He nearly always falls right back to sleep after he finishes on the left side. He is still in bed with us at this point & he still continues to sleep unswaddled. He also prefers to be on his side instead of on his back, but you didn't just read that. =P
Other: Holden has started being a bit better about taking his paci this week. He doesn't LOVE it, but he does tolerate it a little bit better. I think when we head out tomorrow I will buy a couple more different brands to see if we can find one he prefers better then the ones we currently have. He finally started with little smiles this morning, so precious! Holden is definitely not as content a baby as Carter was, it is really too early to say, but I think he may be my challenge. I hope I'm wrong, but really only time will tell. It's not as easy to tell with Holden when we are going through a growth spurt as it was with Carter, which is a great thing in my opinion. His skin is still a little dry, but it is improving a lot from when we first brought him home. Also, his hair is still very thick & NOT falling out...I think he may actually end up keeping most of it. =) We have to give him a bath more often then we did with Carter just because of all that hair! His nails grow so fast that I've already had to clip them 4 times since he was born. He is starting to become more alert during the day & sleeping less. He seems to be more interested in being on his playmat & loves staring at himself in the little mirror attached to it. He loves, loves, loves to be in the baby carrier & will generally calm immediately or sleep while in it. He hates his car seat & being in the car...he will generally scream bloody murder at least once during any car trip.
Dislikes: His car seat, being cold, diaper changes
