CDing Day 1

Uh....it was interesting.

There were leaks, 3 to be exact. =( Not very encouraging. It definitely sealed the deal for me that C will remain in sposies during the night until we get our Hemp inserts. I ordered them online today & did a rush order from Target to get them by Friday. I thought that they were available in store, but I found out that they weren't. =(

I put C in a cloth when he woke up & the first diaper change went fine. He was dirty & I had no problem getting the stool taken care of without a sprayer. One thing I actually liked about the cloth was that the stool does not stick to them like it does to the disposables, which made it very easy to dispose of. =) The second diaper leaked. =( I put him down for a nap shortly after the first change & when he woke up the bed was soaked. =( He did sleep for just over two hours so I guess it's possible he was in the diaper too long. I may have to put him in sposies for naps too until my inserts arrive.

Diapers #3 & #4 leaked! I changed him right before we left for the store out of number 3 & I guess I waited too long again because he soaked his pants. I'm glad we stuck close to home today because this was a real learning experience. I may have to change C on a schedule until I get used to this. Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I can't imagine it's my diapers as I washed & dried them according to procedure with the recommended amount of detergent. I also verified that I do in fact have very hard water (I highly suspected, but now I know it's 100%).

I guess I should probably also check my diaper fit. It seems really loose at the legs, but if I snap it tighter it's too tight at his waist....I'm not sure how to solve that problem! I can't help it that my kid has chicken legs & a Buddha belly. It's hard enough to get him to stay still for a diaper change without him letting me mess with diaper fit on top of it. Hmmm....maybe I'll have to have someone else put a diaper on him the right way so I can see how they fit. Or maybe I should YouTube it.

Needless to say, the kiddo went to bed in a sposie. I need to speak more with my parents & the ILs about cloth so C may not be back in them again until Friday. We'll see.
