CDing Day #2

So far, so good.

I'm happy to report that we have been leak-free thus far for the day. After my post Tuesday night, I did do a bit of You Tubing to make sure that I was fitting the diaper properly & that my inserts were in the correct position. And thank you to You Tube because I actually did learn something very obvious!!  I learned that I can fold the front insert in half to provide more padding & absorbency power in the front (where little boys need it). Duh!! *Noob* Yep. It's okay, I know I am.

I've also been changing C every 2 hours or less today. I think this is also key because my kid drinks a ton of fluids!! I got my Thirsties Hemp inserts (I bought 3 two packs) today in the mail & I am almost finished with the boiling process. I'll dry them all together in the dryer & then hopefully we'll be able to test out our first night of cloth. =) I'm excited with the prospect of not having to us a sposie at night anymore. Unfortunately, C went down for his nap before I was able to dry the inserts so we shall see what we are dealing with when he wakes up. It's not hard to change his bed sheets, but it is frustrating to have to give an impromptu middle of the day bath. I literally changed him *right* before he went down so hopefully with the insert folded in the front we'll make it through without any leaks.

My super sweet cousin, who also CDs, offered to let me test out some of the other bG diapers since they also use the bG brand (exclusively). I'm excited to take her up on her offer & see if I like any of the other diaps better. She did say that she wasn't too fond of the way that the Freetimes wash up. And since I mostly bought the Freetime diaps it's slightly disappointing to hear, but we're going to continue giving them a go. Besides, I'm not sure whether she has the snaps or the hook & loop fasteners. We have ALL snaps since it's easier for K as well as *hopefully* my parents & the ILs eventually.

More to come on this after the weekend. I work & so it will be K's first experience with the cloth for more then 1 diaper change. =) I'm interested to see what Daddy's luck will be.
