So, I was not able to make it out to CB on Saturday to get my diapers & the store was closed today (Sunday) unbeknownst to me. =( However, I'm glad it was! I've been doing a lot of research today & getting a lot of great advice from my CDing friends. I think I am pretty much set on what I am going to buy right off the bat & what I am going to wait on. I can't do laundry every day (I work 3 days a week, one week out of three those days are consecutive) so I have to buy at least 18 diapers to start off for during the day. I plan on buying at least an additional 6 diapers in the near future, but not just yet. I am also now 100% sure that I am going to stick with the bumGenius brand CDs to start. That was my original plan, but I now feel more secure in my decision since of my friends gave such rave reviews of the brand without even knowing that was my intent.
I did just recently buy a whole new bag of 56 sposies, which I just opened today. For now, we will probably continue to use the sposies at night (so that we can use them up) & so that I can buy a bit more time before I have to buy my 6 additional diapers & hemp inserts. I plan to go with Thirsties inserts on top of a BG Elemental for nighttime once I have everything bought. Hopefully, this will work as well for a boy as it has for her little girl.
I already bought an additional diaper pail (garbage/laundry bin) from Walmart today & plan to buy two liners & a smaller wet bag (for diaper bag) tomorrow. I will also buy detergent tomorrow. I think I will wait on the diaper sprayer for now (and see how much we really need it) as well as any additional odds & ends. I can get those in the near future if needed. Dropping over $400 in one day will be enough as it is. I know it seems like a lot & a big investment, but I do consider it JUST THAT....an investment so I'm okay with it. Like I said, I've been thinking about this a while & saving some money for just this possibility (and also got a nearly $100 refund I had forgotten about in the mail just yesterday) so it should be a-okay.
Anyway, it's late...I'm tired & we've got a busy day tomorrow. So more to come on this then.... =)
