Seriously, I went to bed feeling pretty shitty last night (to say the least) & figured today was going to be a total wash (especially when the hubby called in sick to work this AM). We C woke up at 7AM though I was ready to start my day & surprisingly felt great!
I had a list of things we needed to get done in the next couple days (or things I would LIKE to accomplish--you know how it is with a kid) & we made it out of the house before 9:30AM (which is a serious feat for C & I). We hit up Freddie's first & being so early on a Monday it was seriously dead. I grabbed my fruits & veggies as well as this awesome toy shopping cart ($7 on sale + a coupon) for C. Yes, it's purple & teal, but seriously it's the perfect thing for C. My kid loves to carry around baskets or buckets & put his toys or other items into them. He's a hoarder so the shopping cart just seemed like a natural next step....
After Freddie's we hit up the mall. Yeah, with no stroller. Oops! Regardless, it went well. I don't exactly enjoy going to the mall (especially OUR mall), but I had to get my bi-annual ring cleaning & inspection. I'm supposed to do it in the month of November & since the month is almost over I wanted to just get it done before I forgot again. Because I totally would. We also made a quick stop in the Hallmark store, but found nothing that suited our tastes. I'll probably hit up a free-standing Hallmark later this week. I let C play around in the kid's play area for about 10 mins since he had been so good during our whole trip. Then we went to take a peek at the Pet Shop animals. He about had a mini-toddler heart attack over the puppies. Seriously.
After that I ran a few other quick errands, ie bank & dropping something off with my cousin. C passed out with a puff half-way to his mouth as we got to the bank so it was good thing we were only hitting up the drive-thru. I figured C would only nap in the car, but he slept for another 2 hours after we got home.
Honestly, I could not have asked for a better break. I made myself a nice fresh salad for lunch, ran an amazing & relaxingly slow 4 miles on the treadmill & got a nice hot shower in before he woke up. Honestly, just from that one run & my healthy eating today I already feel my mood improving. Yeah, the unexpected sunshine probably helped too. =)
And bonus....I don't have to cook dinner tonight. We're heading over to the ILs to celebrate my FIL's 60th birthday.
Yep, today is pretty much been a perfect day. We got things done, my child is well behaved & in a great mood, I had time to sit down for both breakfast & lunch today, I got a GREAT work-out in & I don't have to clean up dinner dishes. Nice.
