Today

And here (IMO, anyway) starts the official beginning of the holiday season.

Thanksgiving Day.

And although I am thankful every day for the wonderful hand that the lord has dealt me, I am going to put it out there today. This last year has brought us a lot of blessings in our life & I am forever grateful for every single one of them.

We may not love our home or it's location, but it is a warm & cozy place to lay our heads at night. I am so thankful that we have a house at all when many people do not. Despite all of it's problems & the fact that it's not worth a dime, it's ours.

I am so thankful for our jobs & the fact that K & I both have good ones. I may complain a lot about my job & wish that I didn't have to work, but again a lot of people are currently jobless or under-employed at the moment. Our jobs allow us to live a comfortable life & provide us with the opportunity to do a lot of wonderful things that our son may have otherwise not gotten to experience.

I am so very thankful for my parents & the rest of my wonderful family. They love & support us unconditionally & care for our son so that we do not have to put C into daycare. I could never thank my parents enough for helping me to raise our son & guide him in the right direction. He's still young, but he has a very special relationship & bond with them that will continue to grow. I am so thankful that C gets to have them in his life.

I am also thankful for my ILs. We may not always agree on the best way to go about things & they may not be the best planners, but they love us & they love C. My MIL also makes it possible for C to avoid being in daycare & helps whenever we need a back-up babysitter. I am so grateful that C gets to have a relationship with his grandparents.

To our friends that have actually stuck by us through thick & thin the past 8 years also deserve a special thank you. My best friend has been with me through everything, the good, the bad & the very, very ugly & there has not been a SINGLE moment where our friendship has wavered. I am so thankful to have something in my life that is nearly as rock-solid at my marriage. To all of the others (and there are not many), thank you as well. I truly do appreciate your friendship & support.

The people in my life that I am the most thankful for though are my husband & my son. I'm so blessed to have them to share this life with. K is my best friend, lover, shoulder to cry on, biggest supporter & a wonderful father. He may annoy the crap outta me at times, but there is no one I would rather spend my time with. C is the biggest blessing my life has ever received & I literally thank the lord every day for letting me be the one lucky enough to be called his Momma. He's the sweetest, funniest, cutest little man ever & I can't believe that I forever get to call him mine. He is my proudest accomplishment & I'm so excited to help him become the great man I know he is going to be one day.

Today, I am counting of my blessings twice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. And have a VERY Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving day.
