Thrifty Thursday

Stuck to my $100 grocery budget--Not quite. $120.50 spent on groceries this week. Oops.
Stuck to my meal plan--This week yes, last week no. K was out of town so C & I did our best.
Saved Money--I saved $12.50 with my coupons this week.
Finished a home organization project--Nope, but I plan to start this project tomorrow.
Started a home organization project--I was home alone with C, enough said. Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow!!
Coupons--Uh...no, but gonna work on it today. I am trying a new approach to meal planning in an attempt to cut down our grocery bill even more. Well see if I can get us down to $75.00 this week.
Deal of the week:  2 cans of campbell's cream of mushroom soup & 2 cans of campbell's cream of chicken soup for $1.96 total. & 2 cans of swanson's broth for $1.00 total.

We will start with Friday because the rest of the week was pretty much a mess. =) Although, we did have a really good meal on Saturday, 10/27 at home that I must mention. See the recipe here. It's a bit of a different take on lasagna, but very delicious. You're welcome in advance. =)

Friday, 11/02--Skinny Roast Beef with corn, spinach & rolls
Saturday, 11/03--Left-over Roast Beef Stoganoff (sooooo good) with egg noodles & rolls
Sunday, 11/04--Take-out Chinese (in early celebration of my 30th birthday, fancy, I know)
Monday, 11/05--Swiss Steak, green beans & rolls
Tuesday, 11/06--Garlic Pesto Chicken with Tomato Creme Penne & Garlic bread
Wednesday & Thursday, 11/07 & 11/08--Left-overs (12 hour work days =( )

At this exact moment, I have no meal plan for the next week & although that scares me a little bit (after having 3 months of set plans in advance)it's okay. I am trying a different approach this week to save us even more money. I would like to eventually cut our monthly grocery bill in half. I'm starting by challenging myself to only spend $75 on groceries this week. I'll keep ya posted about how it all turns out! Wish me luck, I may need it...
