Carter: 15 Months

Stats:

Weight: 21 pounds 15.6 ounces

Length: 31 inches

Clothing: Anywhere from 9-18 months sizes. He's just tall & skinny like his daddy. It's a blessing & a curse.

Shoes: Size 4-5 wide depending on brand.

Diapers: Size 4, Huggies Little Movers Slip-ons.

Milestones:

10/22--Added the word toast to his vocabulary.

10/31--First time trick-or-treating! (He only went to two houses, but who's counting?)

11/03--Stood up solo without pulling up for the first time.

In Other News:

Nursing--After a lot of debate...C & I dropped down to 2 sessions daily. First thing in the morning & at bedtime. I cut out of the middle of the day session because he never asked for it anymore & only nursed because I offered. I figured I would test it out with nap time & see how it went. So at nap time one day I offered a sippy instead of the breast. He did not take the sippy, but did not really put up a huge fuss over not getting the breast either. He was asleep without it within 5 mins of being rocked. The next day was very much the same & so on. I, however, have no plans to drop the morning or bedtime session until he's ready. He still seems to want both regularly.

Food/WCM--Eh....pretty much the same. He was on a dinner strike for a few days, but is back to eating a little bit more again. He's also back to wanting to use silverware again & he wants to do it ALL by himself. His favorite foods currently are peanut butter, toast, chicken nuggets, & granola bars of all varieties. We still have yet to find a sippy cup C will drink WCM out of. =( I had some disposable cups & tried those. He will drink a little bit out of them, but not much. Better then nothing I guess, but we still won't take the bottle away yet (we'll just work harder on it).

Sleep--C is still sleeping okay, but has pushed up his bedtime to before 8PM every night. He had about a week or so where he would sleep in his crib straight through until about 5-6AM when he would then end up in Momma & Daddy's bed with just Momma quite a few mornings. I think it was just more of the separation anxiety thing & thankfully he's back to sleeping 11-12 hours straight through. He's also been going down wide awake the past few nights & has put himself to sleep with no fuss.Yay! He's taking 1 nap daily in the early afternoon that ranges from 1.5-3 hours usually.

Activities/Play--We're finally, finally, finally walking all over the place now! Everyone always told me I should enjoy it while he's not walking/running, but I love it. I'm so happy he's finally a walker officially. C loves to babble nonsensically more then anything now &  seems to think he's having very intellectual conversations. C's attention span is VERY short right now & loves to play with anything that is NOT one of his toys. Fortunately, he is a very good helper & listener for the most part. I've started letting him help me with small tasks like pushing the start button the dryer & picking up his toys & he seems to get a thrill out of being a big boy. I've also started making him help me pick up the food that he throws on the floor after meal times. Especially since he does it now with a sense of "hahaha" instead of just a "let's see what happens." I don't find food throwing funny & so he now gets to help clean up after himself  if he insists on doing it. It may seem early, but I am trying to teach him in a good way that actions have consequences. I'm working really hard on not just using the word "no" all the time & actually trying to get more on his level of understanding. Yes, I realize he's only 15 months, but I don't think it's too early for some of these lessons. We are still using re-direction/distraction a lot.
